  1. Cody, we have been still keeping up with Indiana wrestling and just want to let you know to keep your head up and put last weekend behind you. I don't know if you even read all the messages on this board and if you do, Do not let these people get in your head. You are a great kid and come from a great family! The people that write some of the messages on this board have never even stepped on a mat before. The pressure that you have as a nationally and state ranked wrestler with two state titles is tremendous. Everybody puts you on a pedestal and just expects you to win every match and that is not going to happen. Your journey through college is going to be ten times harder than what you are going through now. Wrestling is a great sport and teaches kids and young men such as yourself many different values that you will need to get through life. I am the father that took you to training and all those tournaments growing up and watched you get beat and come back the next week and get beat again but you never gave up, you just worked harder. I got a letter from my son who is now in the Armed Forces and he expressed to me that he know understands everything wrestling his whole life has taught him. He had people just like you do ridiculing him on this same board because of his actions at a couple tournaments. It was all just a learning curve for him and had to learn to control his emotions and focus on the next match. Wrestling teaches all of us life! Work hard this week, focus, forget last weekend and get that state title! We wish you the best of luck this weekend and in your future in college.
  2. Congrats to Montgomery! Be glad Kief moved to Florida. Tear them up at semistate
  3. For all you people that think Dusty moved for other reasons besides his Dad's job are wrong. If you have not noticed Dusty was a total different kid this year wrestling and taking losses along with his wins. He has matured as a person and a wrestler and will have a great end to his season because of it. He is a very smart young man. He is very competitive at whatever he does and he used to lose focus because of it. He has never been in trouble except on the wrestling mat and had to just learn the hard way, but it has taught him very valuable lessons in life and will help him get ready for college wrestling. The people who really know Dustin know this and the people that just has seen his bad moments on the mat do not. For you people that do not just keep your thoughts to yourself and quit trying to start things on this message board about Dusty.
  4. Florida state finals are the same weekend as Indiana. They have districts then regionals and then state with wrestlebacks! No semistate, Their county tournaments are the weekend of Jan. 21st and five to six dual meets before districts start. He is elgible to wrestle starting county tournaments. He was able to start practice yesterday. He did not miss a day of practice and had had some great matches in IN.He will definitely be ready for state in Florida.
  5. Kief will be wrestling in florida at J.P. Taravella High school. Not a great program but has good coach and is a 3A school. He will be wrestling against some great kids such as Brandon High and South Dade Miami. Good Luck the rest of your high school season! Gonna hit the eighty degree mark by Monday!
  6. Kief from Franklin has not moved, he is still here and wrestling
  7. What everone needs to understand on this website is this is rankings guy's opinion. Everybody out there has different opinions about who should be ranked in the state of IN at their weight classes. Ask any great coach out there and he will tell all you wrestlers and dads that nothing matters until sectional time. Yes it is great being ranked in your state and yes it does maybe help with colleges looking for recruits. Every wrestler can have a good day and a bad day and the rankings guy goes off every week of lossses and wins. Not everbody is going to agree with him and you wrestlers out there should not let it bother you if you get moved down in rankings, if you know come sectional time, you can make it conseco. Kids get ranked 2nd and third and have a bad match and all of a sudden they are ranked at fourth or tenth because rankings guy said they did not win buy enough points. Knura should be ranked No.1 at 215 no matter how he lost or won over the weekend and Kief wrestled 1 bad match all year and he now is ranked to not even to place at state. Right now is practice time to get ready for your state series and if you lose a match you made some mistakes. How are you going to become a better wrestler if you do not make any mistakes unless you have the god given talent to win every match. If you go to the right school and have the right last name you might keep your rankings high no matter what but just remember it is all practice to get you to conseco in February. Being ranked low should make all of you work that much harder to prove to yourselves and everybody else that you are a great wrestler.
  8. Congratulations to Dustin Kief, accepted a scholarship offer from ST.Cloud State University in Minnesota. They are a great school and have a great wrestling program with a great coaching staff. They are ranked 2nd divisionII and 1st in their conference. Good luck in your college years!
  9. Kief had a great day, lost first round and came back to win 6 matches beating 3 3x state placers including 2010 Esteben Gonzales a 2010 fargo All American and taking 3rd place 0ver Michigan kid who placed 4th last season and went 7-2 at disney duals over the summer.
  10. I talked to andy(head coach Northwestern) he suggested if you are wanting to go to college and wrestle to stick with virginia beach. They want to watch juniors and seniors wrestle that will be getting ready to hit college. Flonationals has some great competition but it has all grades wrestling each other and they are pretty much interested in just juniors and seniors at this point. A lot of coaches will be at virginia beach but, with the competition at flo, I am sure there will be some there also. It will be interesting how well it is ran since it is the first year. Good luck to the guys from Indiana that are going!
  11. don't forget about Brandon Precin next year from northwestern, he redshirted this year. He will be back strong next year
  12. great family great kids wish you the best in the future!
  13. I am not on here to put any kids down, I would just like the posts about the whole situation to stop the kief kid feels bad enough and everybody wants to keep bringing it up while he knows he made a mistake and wants to put it behind him.
  14. Grecoisu, When a kid is down and makes a mistake and you keep beating him down, is this what you teach your students at school? I am sure glad my kids are not in your class because you have bigger issues than kief will ever have. Aren't teachers supposed to be mentors? Aren't teachers supposed uplift kids that make mistakes in life. It makes me wonder how you can be a teacher after seeing some of the posts you have made.
