  1. Novice 60 final is interesting and look at the Perry Guys atop Novice 65!
  2. This has to be Lance...155 falls in 177 matches...must be a bunch in the first 2 minutes
  3. I remember Howe's sophomore year...he was ranked behind senior defending state champ Nick Walpole...the question was would Howe choose bottom. He didn't...he won...and both later bacame college national champs.
  4. at 120 I would have to go with Chad "Junior's in the house or Red beat blue" Red.
  5. I am 100% certain that Red will not have 4 falls and a tech fall. Iron clad, stone cold lock.
  6. It was a 1 point match in which Wilson scored off of James' shots and the tone of your response is that Wilson dominated. I am willing to concede that this dual will be close and may not go Brandon's way (I don't believe that, but that is my opinion). If you can't see James ever winning, then I would argue that you are blinded by some prejudice against Perry Meridian in general or Brandon in particular. The match in 2 weeks is really the only one that matters. Ask Eppert if he ultimately cared about losing a regional final.
  7. Before the 3rd period, Wilson had not scored. Can you elaborate on just exactly what point you were attempting to make?
  8. Zach, I know it is customary to line out wrestlers as they exit the tournament, but I respectfully request that you keep Austin McClosky's name intact atop the rankings at 170. I think his body of work and the manner in which he battled through this season justifies his inclusion there. I know it will only be symbolic, but it would be a fitting tribute to his career.
  9. He's a champion in my book. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  10. I see that match against Perry Meridian as a 1 or 2 point match either way.
  11. I know there will be many at the Shelbyville sectional...at 106 White, Dawkins and Luster...at 120 Red vs McKinney...at 126 McGhee, McCarty and Ellis...at 132 Wilson vs Locke...at 138 Pruitt vs Smiley...at 195 Moss vs Wagner...a t220 Vaughn vs Morrow...very tough sectional with Warren Central, New Pal and Franklin Central among others.
  12. There might be 1 or 2 guys going to Newcastle that will knock at least 1 of these guys out.

  14. My name is Allison Thornton and my husband is Dave Thornton. Many of you in the wrestling community know Dave and he has often spoken of how dedicated and close-knit the wrestling community is. I am writing to inform everyone that Dave's cancer has returned and the site I am including is both a chronicle of his battle and a fundraising effort to offset medical expenses. I hope no one feels obligated to donate, but will at least read about his battle and offer encouragement in this latest fight. Thank you for your support. The site is http://gfwd.at/1f7tqSI
  15. My understanding is that by the weight loss plan, no wrestler may, at any time, lose more than 1.5% per week. Example: a wrestler has made scratch weight at 126, but wrestles some at 132 or even 138. Assume his Alpha Weight was 130. That would mean that at no time may he lose more than 1.95 pounds per week. If the week before sectionals he weighs more that 129.95 (not certain how they handle rounding), then he can't compete at 126 (128) in the sectional.
  16. Agreed...it is great to see the midweek dual between two of Indiana's finest programs has not completely gone away. I thought it was quite impressive that Cathedral could juggle their line-up and insert a stong back-up like Goddard and give themselves a good shot at winning the dual. We possibly saw 5 (or more) state champs last night. Banker's Life will be fun once more.

  19. yes...THN and THS are now in CI. PM is the clear favorite and it should be an intersting battle for 2nd between Bloomington South and Franklin Central.
  20. What in the world is going on with the seeding here? If this is what we have developed as the best system for seeding a tournament, then some sanity needs to be introduced to the process. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the goal of seeding to seperate the best wrestlers as much as possible and have them meet later in the tournament? The question is how do we determine who the best wrestlers are. We look at head to head competition, record against common opponents, overall winning percentage...be in the case that none of those apply, shouldn't advancement in the state tournament be considered? Here is the case I am most frustrated by...Maximilliano Hernandez from Warren Central has yet to wrestle this year, so his 0-0 record does not merit consideration for a seed. This will not affect him because along with Norman Oglesby of Ben Davis, they are the class of this field. By shear luck they are in opposite half brackets, but the guy who gets the short straw here is Austin Osbourne of Decatur Central, who as the 7th seed, draws Hernandez first round...a likely 1 and done day for him. He will not get the chance to wrestle back for a place because of a flawed system. What really would have sucked is if Hernandez and Ogelsby drew each other first round (a possibility in this system). We need to return to s system that gets input from the coaches and allows a state place-winner with a 0-0 record to be seeded accordingly. Rant off.
  21. If it is not important to the Irish, then why accept the invitation? Crown Point and Merrillville both declined for their own reasons, so why didn't Cathedral? Could it be because it is important?
  22. I have updated Perry Meridian's results on the results page. PM is now 10-0.
