  1. I would like to see them switch it up a little bit and start at different weight classes or come up with a line up of weights. I also feel like the person that wins the Mental Attitude Award gets shafted - I wish they would give that award right before the finals.
  2. After a few days days to unwind from state weekend I would like to congratulate the Franklin Community Wrestling Team on a great season. With a 1st place team finish in the ISWCA Team Duals and a 2nd place team finish at the IHSAA State Individual Finals. First off to the coaches - Bob Hasseman, Joe Hasseman and Brandon Pettijohn you guys did a great job and always had your kids ready to compete. This years class had 8 seniors and they should be very proud of their accomplishments along the way. Also congrats to the state place winners - JD Smith 113 State Champ. Skyler Lykins 138 6th place and the Mental Attitude Winner. Jacob Stevenson 170 State Champ. Connor Tolley 220 3rd Place.
  3. Quinn and Lee, I am very sorry to hear that you loss. You have a big support group within the wrestling family. Please reach out if you need anything.
  4. Patt VanHorn - Tournament Director of the Franklin Community Daniel Mercer Folkstyle Challenge ask me to post this information. The date of this tournament will change to March 1st and will be done in conjunction with Perry Meridians tournament on March 2nd. More information will be posted later on.
  5. Just wondering what coaches out there have over 600 dual meet wins? Franklin Community's Bob Hasseman hit his 600th win early this season - what other current coaches have hit this milestone?
  6. Congratulations to Coach Bob Hasseman and the Franklin Grizzly Cub Wrestlers on their Team State Championship!

  20. Thanks to Jim Littlejohn for working so hard to get the best officials the state has to offer to work our events. I would also like to thank the women of the ISWA that run the tournament. Jean Whetstone, Pat Culp, Patt VanHorn, Tina Fouts, Apryl McClurg, Renee Schottle, Trina Dowden, Sharon Dowden, Pattie and Sharon Rossbottom work countless hours in planning and running our state events. Without these ladies efforts there is no way that our events would go as smooth as they do. Thanks also to the many other people that volunteer their time to help run our events. It takes a major Team effort to get it done. Lastly thank you to the wrestlers - they put on one heck of a show and the quailty of wrestling was great. The ISWA will continue to try to make things better as we "Wrestle For Now And The Future" and "Do It For The Kids"!
  21. Here is the link to the National Middle School Duals Information on their website. http://www.bigbashwrestling.com/msd1.htm
  22. **Parents or Coaches of wrestlers on the 2013 National Middle School Duals Teams** Please plan to have the wrestles at David Palmer Arena - 100 West Main Street - Danville, IL 61832 between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm central time on Friday March 22, 2013. Wrestlers will check in with one of the Team Leaders (Mark Stevenson or Mark Galka) once they arrive. Please make sure to check in so they know you are there. You will then receive your team gear (Singlet, MMA Style Shorts, Dry Fit T-shirt, and Sweatshirt). After they get their gear the wrestlers can weigh-in. Please note that wrestlers must make scratch weight (wearing a singlet) no weight allowance is given. Wrestlers and parents can then meet with the coaches during this process. After making weight wrestlers are released to parents and then required to be back at David Palmer Arena the next morning for wrestling - I will confirm times with an e-mail to all parents later this week. Coaches for this year are: Jim Tonte (Perry Meridian), Leroy Vega (Portage), Shaun Richardson (Perry Meridian), Maurice Swain (North Montgomery), Tom Griffin (Carmel) and Eric Keith (Portage).
  23. I was stanging right there when he dumped it in the trash - I would have got it out except it was the same trash can that the wrestlers had been spitting in all day. Not sure who was brave enough to go digging.
  24. We carry them also. Contact Shawn Taylor - Sales Manager for Pro Industries - 800-875-5448 www.proindustries.com
