    Interesting rubber match IF . . . Dowdy and Schroeder meet in the Semi's. I believe their series is tied at 2-2. Schroeder took the dual and SIAC matches. Dowdy took the Sectional & Regional matches. If I'm correct....

    I believe I remember sitting around the ol laptop to hear an Ancient Elder story about state finals & DQ's. I think his story told of two wrestlers who were "double-stalled DQ'd" out of their match. I'm not sure if it was a finals match or what have you. TAE, can you clear up the haze I've created?

Time: Quarterfinals begin at 10 am ET with semifinal round and championship round to follow. Admission: $8. Advancement: This is a single elimination tournament in which the winning team shall advance to the next round. Quarterfinals Match 1: Winner at Shelbyville vs. Winner at Martinsville. Match 2: Winner at Jimtown vs. Winner at Adams Central. Match 3: Winner at Southridge vs. Winner at Portage. Match 4: Winner at Logansport vs. Winner at Zionsville. Semifinals Match 5: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2. Match 6: Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4. Championship Match 7: Winner of Match 5 vs. Winner of Match 6. If I read this correctly (Winner at Portage vs. Winner at Southrdige), MD vs CP 1st rd?!?! WOW Thoughts, Comments? Predictions?

    Thank you ruff. I did read the topic and ALL of the replys. I understand CONSECO is a state tournament thats decides the BEST wrestlers and is not a conference tourney. Maybe you could do some quick thinking and realize that the placers at state will tell us what conference is the best. Maybe you could do the math after STATE and calculate which conference has the most placers before you make arrogant and irrelevant posts directed at someone trying to inject a bit of humor on a thread. Thanks.

    These are NOT JV wrestlers. Those are their varsity kids in at every weight class! They are the same kids who wrestled in and won the MD Holiday Classic. I know MD is notorious for having solid JV guys, but this is not one of those times. Greg Schaefer even commented in the Evansville paper that these are not JV kids. This is their varisty line up. Just a heads up for the rest of our area, these names will not change much. Seng, Riggs, and Bass (abbrv) are TOUGH VARSITY kids who have won wrestle offs and earned their starts.

    They have shuffled several names from 140-152 Raben, Riggs, Bass, Weinz, just to name a few. They are all SOLID. ANd yes I agree about your JV comment, scary good.

    Some food for thought.... MD will have a name in this mix. Bassmeier (sp?) beat Bowman and they still have a Weinzapfel lurking in the shadows.

    Predictions of Reitz, Memorial, and Union County duals? I see Reitz vs UC as a GREAT matchup! Memorial is not deep enough to hang, but these are your top 3 teams.

    1.) If you don't know who Coach Stevens is then you should not be bashing him on the board. 2.) Our sport is not doomed to stay in the dark ages because of coaches like Coach Stevens. Is is doomed to be an unpopular sport socially because of its nature. It is hard and kids these days are not willing to work hard. It is not popular to "roll around with a sweaty guy". It is not popular to bust ur A$$ at times all by yourself to succeed. It is much more popular to pass the ball when the game is on the line or let a styd carry your team to victory. 3.) What is publicity and what does it do for you? It puts a big A$$ target on your back. If Coach Stevens prefers to be the hunter instead of the hunted, props to him. That is a noble ploy to help his team and kids stay focused. Maybe they don't want or need publicity or publication. That stuff is all vain. 4.) Those of you who don't want your line ups posted or prefer not to have your information posted without your say, way to stand up for a CLASS ACT like Coach Stevens. He is one of the few coaches who does things the right way, ALWAYS! Shame on those of you who choose to throw his name in the dirt. Those of you who did, YOU are a JOKE!
