Dont know what was said, or by whom, but I am guessing there were some interesting words said at the Shelbyville meeting when the 125 class was being seeded.

This is a direct result of the zero tolerance society that we live in today, where common sense would dictate that both of these wrestlers should be the 1 and 2 seed. What we have here is a case of these are the rules, we dont care why they were created, we just read them as written and the results be damned. While I believe that both Wright and Kieffer will advance to saturday at conseco, there is a kid from the other sectionals and regionals that will not, simply because someone HAD to follow the rules as written, and not use their head to actually think about anything in a logical manner. I would have loved to be there to see how both Coach Williams, and Coach Ellis recieved the word that neither of their wrestlers was going to be the number one seed.

125 at Shelbyville..... returning state runner up is the number 2 seed. Returning state placer seeded 3rd. Can anyone else top that........ :) :) :)

Thanks Coach Williams for posting the results. I wish we could have gotten some better coverage in the Star, but what are ya going to do, once again, they prove they could care less about any high school sport that is not basketball, or football.

Wow, not even anything on the Indy Star web site. They usually have atleast the finals match ups and final team score.

Thanks Y2, just goes to show, there is alot of good wrestling taking place here in the state. And with Trine beating Olivet yesterday, they should move atleast one spot in the top 30 team ranking as well.

As a graduate of Andersonb High school. and former resident of the town, it saddens me to see the city losing another High school. Several years ago, they lost Madison Heights, and now Anderson Highland. I would hope that 1st they decide to rename the new high school to help bring the city back together, and do away with both the Scots, and the Indians. 2nd, I would hope that they continue thier affiliation with the North Central Conference, By bringing these two schools together, they would help strengthen all sports teams, as well as music, and other extra curricular activities. I cant help but feel saddened for all the students that are currently enrolled in HHS as freshmen through Juniors that will not be able to graduate from the school they have grown up thinking would be the school named on thier diploma. Good Luck to all Scot wrestlers may your last year be your best.

FYI for anyone interested in seeing alot of former Indiana High school wrestlers competing at the next level. Trine will travel to U of I for a dual meet on Thursday night at 7:30.

Not sure where it is this year, but the Shelbyville/Franklin Central /Warren Central sectional will be tough as always with Warren Central, New Pal, Beech Groove and Roncalli all there.

While I would not suggest it for the kid in question, Beer, chicken wings, and 10:00 pm bowls of Ice cream has put alot of weight on me. ;D Good luck to him, he is in a unique position in that he cant put it on, while most of us in the state are battling the other way.

No, they wont see then except for at this event. Unless it is at team state.

Does 0-0 count as undefeated? or does it mean that alot of winless kids will be there? ;D

While I personally dont give much weight to rankings of any sort, but they do tend to generate quite a bit of discussion on the board. They are usually the most commented on subjects. The only values I place on them is a place for some kids to be able to go and see that thier hard work from last year, or this year to date has paid off in as much as someone else has noticed. If a kid spends alot of time looking at the ramkings, he will not be ranked for very long. They are more for the proud mamas and papas out there so they can brag at work. If a kid feels he should be ranked and is not, then 2 things must be realized. This is not little league where everyone gets a trophy or a ribbon, and the second thing is they need to get thier butts back in the room, work harder, and longer then the kids that are ranked, and soon thier work will be seen on the mat, and then in the rankings.

Congrats Sammy, I have always enjoyed seeing you and the rest of your family at all the different meets. It is great that you will be continuing your education, and wrestling at such a good school.

Wait, are you saying that you cant just throw your singlet out on the mat and win matches. Wow, that is amazing. Who would have thought it. Sean, good luck this year I wish you all the best. Oh and FYI, for those that dont get it, the 1st part was sarcasam. The 2nd part wishing Sean well was not.

What do you mean it is going to be fun to watch....We have been watching them for the last 4,5,6 years here, they were just wearing different singlets. But you are right it should make for some fun wrestling. Maybe even the local news outlets might actually cover some of it since there are so many in state kids on both teams.

I would love to go, but that weekend is little state to be hald at Trine this year. So alas I will be unable to attend. I will get to as many of the big meets I can, I enjoy watching Andre wrestle and seeing his improvements from week to week. And yes, Nick is working hard in the room, trying to get himself to be as competitive as he can be at that level. It is a bit step up. In high school, all of the kids being discussed on the board are the studs in thier room, once they go to the next level, every kid in the room was the stud in thier room. What a great time. and a fantastic learning exp. for them. I expect him to grow greatly as a wrestler, but more importantly I expect to see huge changes in him as a man. Not that there was anything wrong with him as a kid. -
I did nto say I would not be part of irrelevant behavior or discussions, just that they are irrelevant. I personally do enjoy reading what everyone thinks, but that does not change the fact that opinions, rankings, predictions are irrelevant. And since I dont have a dog in this fight, it helps me to keep up with who is doing what. That may be the single biggest advantage to them. It allows people that are no longer in the sport to stay up on who is and isnt doing well.

Nope, I think that rankings are irrelevant as well. They are just opinions, and we all know what they say about opinions. Is the conversation that is generated by rankings and predictions entertaining, sometimes. Do they do any good. Slightly if you could get someone besides the wrestling community to look at them they might generate some exposure for the sport, but otherwise it is just something to pass the time until wrestling actually starts.

Congrats Brandon, I wish you well as you continue your wresting and education next year. Now if you remember the 1st time I met you and your dad way back when at your 1st freestyle state, that you should choose soon who you were going to root for, IU, or Purdue, you said no way I am an Illini guy...... haha, now you are a Purdue guy. LOL
