  1. There is a good Foxcatcher documentary on Netflix now. I'd take a look Indianas own Jim Humphrey is in it a good amount. Note there is some rough language but the content seems good as I am about half way through it.
  2. You are 100% correct Nick this dialog is whats great about having such community at your finger tips, ideas and suggestions from all constituents. But to say that people are "selfish" because they disagree with the decisions and practices of the ISWA recently is a more negative and almost insulting thing to say to your constituents. What I at least interpret from this statement is if you don't agree then you are not attempting to better our State and community. People are offering suggestions based on their troubles with the system the By-Laws of the ISWA state that you guys will try to do right by them as of Article II Section 1 Points D and E D) To promote and protect the mutual interest of it’s registered members and constituent clubs. E) To cooperate with other groups and organizations in the promotion of Amateur Wrestling.
  3. Our Flo-rida Correspondent seems to have the right idea...#WelcomeToMyHouse
  4. Phase 1 complete now you ground him until he agrees to wrestle 170 as football is stupid....
  5. I have to add all the gifs Chad...Technology is Darricks Kryptonite
  6. Let your kid do what he wants. If he doesn't want to go and would rather play football he will just resent you if you try and force the issue. As stated above say hey I'm willing to pay to do events XYZ if you want. If not no harm no foul
  7. Yeah doesn't this go against the whole point of the qualifiers? Not like we will get an answer we have to go to a meeting for those things.
  8. Limit the Event to one to two teams per state if thats what you want....Thats what Cadet and Junior Duals does. However this isn't that event...it's a regional level all star dual where you field a team and go there is no need for there to be state affiliation nor do the kids on your team have to even live in your state.
  9. But Damn if they aren't good lookin
  10. People can reach out and ask those questions, the Gorillas are fine and happy where they are. As far as the coaches association they don't run the tournament so no they have no say in team requirements. Seltzer's right it needs to be a two or one team per state limit to get that prestige in it that being said it is gonna tank for a couple of years it won't magically fix it. That being said I will keep doing what I do I had 4 kids get 6-7 Good matches in. Besides Brayton everyone got beat and got better. (Brayton is poop is what I am saying #headlockcity)
  11. Don't blame Joe or the kids...blame me if you want to blame someone...I coach the Gorillas team so its on me for wanting to coach my own kids. I would wrestle my high school team in it if possible and we would probably be pretty successful. This isn't like Cadet/Jr Duals where only 2 teams per state are allowed...if it was this would be an 11 team 6 state tournament....the prestige just isn't there. If and Indiana team would have won this it wouldn't push us to some higher tier when it comes to national wrestling ability
  12. When I was in Snyder's History class in 05 I did a parody of that song that went we built this city on the renaissance...Im pretty sure its on the internet somewwhere
  13. The criteria victories really bother me....make the wrestler earn the win in the end...Malinaro and Pico was a great example of this Pico got him on the shot clock twice and Malinaro knew he would still have criteria and just stalled it out, arn't we trying to make the guys wrestle?
  14. What determines if you are automatically in the best of 3?
  15. Clearly they were a fan of my mic work and promotion
  16. none of those kids ever won a University ISWA Freestyle State title so I am heads and shoulders above all of them....(figuratively of course)
  17. That would be sick! I would love to volunteer my mic talents to live commentate the matches!
  18. It was Dubuque who probably got that ball rolling being a NJ guy himself
  19. I just wouldn't put all that pressure on my kid....
