fearless fly reacted to Russian in Peru Regional
Touche, I forgot about Roberson of Kokomo that is a tough first round match a good kid will be going home early.
Thanks for the heads up big guy!!! I will be blasting it from my phone, I just hope I don't start dancing!

I hear Kaseys coach is a huge Taylor Swift fan so if you can distract him with some of Taylors tunes and get him to dance during this match....

fearless fly got a reaction from BeastMode#31 in The IHSAA was right.
there is no doubt that it would garner perceived success as you would not have those small class individuals( you know, the ones that don't have a chance in a single class system) beating up on them but would it make the team stronger by making it an easier route ? I just don't see it and until someone can guarantee that classing individual will do that then I'm against classing. Indiana IS special and has too much lose imo

fearless fly got a reaction from unknown wrestler in First meet of 2015-2016!
not the big timey names but saw some good matches between more novice wrestlers getting their first win(much like y2s kid a few years back)and just as if not more exciting than the "big" matches.

AJ, these large schools you speak of that are very bad at wrestling.... how can this be ?

fearless fly got a reaction from AJ in How would class wrestling work in Indiana?
I want to add that the small schools are not exclusive....there are alot of big schools there aren't very successful either. Its mainly a select few that are successful...do what they are doing for it seems they have no problem in a classless system.

fearless fly got a reaction from munges in How would class wrestling work in Indiana?
looks to be about what we should expect
this does work, Y2 is proof of that....the problem is getting these coaches to stay at these programs...Y2 is also proof of that

fearless fly got a reaction from BeastMode#31 in Wrestling Room Size
hold on.....are we talking sq. ft or cu. ft ?
and wouldn't you want to know how many coaches are in the room so you can deduct that space from wrestling space ?
-
fearless fly got a reaction from BeastMode#31 in How would class wrestling work in Indiana?
imagine how hard they would have to work in a single class system in their state ; )

I don't think they don't work hard, they don't have to work as hard since the top wrestlers are all spread out. I would bet that some(if not most) of these "champions" aren't even top 30 in their overall weight class.

and what about the B team wrestlers at some of the successful programs(big and small) that are really good but are overshadowed by their top ranked teammate ? I propose a 2 class 5 championship series to make it fair and gets all the good wrestlers noticed.
3 champions for 2A and 1 for 1A (based on school population) and 1 for JV that are better than alot of varsity from other programs....should get about everyone since exposure seems to be the problem...

they mite gain exposure in a class system but at what cost ? weaker overall talent ? i think so

exactly, and that is why they should have 4 times more champs...a simple law of averages. by giving the small schools the same amount of champs as the large schools would be unfair to the large schools imo
