  1. I'd love to pick from 800 boys, that is twice the number of total students that I get to choose from.
  2. I think they were meaning multiple from the same school this year. Although I don't doubt that Brooks is capable of that.
  3. What did he do last year? Launched a kid so high that when he came down it cracked the ice underneath the mat at the Coliseum.
  4. They are two seperate bands. Sense Field...and the other Senses Fail. I did have both bands on my mixes.
  5. THIS MUST BE TURNED IN AT THE STATE MEET BY 9:30am ON SATURDAY FEB. 21, 2009 OR POSTMARKED (Mailed in) BY FEB. 19TH AND MAILED TO: MAT BURNS ?PICK - THE - CHAMPIONS CONTEST? c/o Richard Jay 7400 Greenfield St. Schererville , IN 46375
  6. I doubt any wrestler that walks away from Team State finishing Runners-Up feels like they are just receiving a "feel good award". I know when we received out "Final Four" medals, we wore them proud as could be when we walked out of Center Grove and wore them proud at school that following Monday. It went to show what our hard work got us through the season. That is pathetic to think that that those awards are just "feel good awards".
  7. I decided to mix things up in the wrestling room this year during practices. I was tired of the same old stuff: AC/DC, Ozzy, and all that other old music. So I decided to make up a mix CD that had some newer artists on it with bands such as: Motion City Soundtrack, Sense Field, The Used, Brand New. The guys seemed to enjoy the new stuff here and there. I know I did.
  8. This is because Michigan has CLASS Wrestling. inf act They have 4 class... if it was one Division she might not can even made it to what would be our Semi-state... I think they call it district or something like that Michigan has actually had a few girls in the past that have been fairly tough and decent wrestlers. Class wrestling has nothing to do with their success.
  9. They don't seed any of the other sports.
  10. I'd say those Decatur people know their wrestling. Great wrestling team year in and year out, and they have 4 Mat Burns Champions on that list, and the Rockford, OH person is from Decatur too.
  11. With there only being eight teams every year, there is always going to be a chance of some of the same draws. It has been that way since it started. Sometimes a team gets lucky, sometimes they don't. It helps make it interesting and exciting though.
  12. The AJ jinx worked yet again for Yorktown, Mater Dei and Peru. Haha!! ;D You just love to point out AJ's picking flaws.
  13. I wish they still hosted the sectional.
  14. There are many other forums out there for other sports. This was asked before by somebody.
  15. Well first off they have Bellmont first round. Sure they beat them already this season, but it was only a 13 point victory and Bellmont didn't have Will Sheets or Trent Busse in the lineup that match. A few years ago the Braves were the underdogs and pulled out a victory on the tie-breaker criteria. Then there is also Castle in that side of the bracket, who just beat Mater Dei 29-16 tonight. I don't think their road is as easy as you think.
  16. This now ties Mater Dei and Bellmont with most Team State appearances. They have now each not made it one year. Bellmont not making it in 1997. Such an amazing feat though I must admit, not many teams can say that about themselves.
  17. Bellmont showed up to wrestle, and their crowd was behind them the most I've seen in a few years. Even after a loss the Bellmont crowd was on their feet cheering cause they knew that a loss by a decision or major decision was in their favor. It took Coach Dulaney to look into the Yorktown crowd and wave his arms to even get the Yorktown crowd to cheer or get up on their feet when their own guys won. It was nice to see the Bellmont crowd loud again, it has been a little sad the last few years but they showed tonight why they are one of the best around. Oh Yeah....How 'Bout Them Braves!!!!!

  19. There is a preview here of the Adams Central Team Regional: http://www.indianamat.com/category/news/
  20. The roads are fine in these parts right now...And Bellmont was underdog twice in one day this year when they faced Mishawaka and Perry Meridian. To say 39 years is far fetched. Since the start of the Team State format, I'd say they have never been the underdog for regionals or semi-state. The only loss was in '97 to Wawasee at semi-state. I guess back in 2003, people were thinking that Yorktown had a shot at knocking Bellmont out. But Bellmont fired back with Brandon Scherer beating state runner up Erik Johnson, and pulled out the swing matches to win by 20+ points.
  21. Last year I picked with my eyes closed and standing on my head and took 4th. This year I'm going to open one eye and click left handed for the win.
  22. First thing I saw when I woke up, I'm going back to bed.
