  1. You're right, numbers don't lie. L. Welch losing 3-1 to #1 Delgado Sabatello beating Zane Richards among others Welch Beating #2(at the time) James Green and #8 Dylan Alton You won't convince me that if there wasn't a change in staff that matches like these would be a regular occurrence.
  2. Check out Flowrestlings "Stashies at Nashies". Those guys may be loud and obnoxious (Bader), but they're definitely trend setters.
  3. Don't worry about anything Powerline says. He's to Purdue and the Ersland era what Bronxbomber is to IU. (Not that I don't agree with the IU situation)
  4. At 285 Brendon Sutton (Jennings County) over #4 Nathan Hayes (Greensburg) WBD 6-3 Sean Galligar (Columbus East) over #10 Kolby Mount (Scottsburg) WBD 3-0 Kolby Mount over Nathan Hayes WBF 4:28
  5. His match in the semis was with Nick Walpole. Tough draw for both guys, should have been the finals.
  6. Franklin is a good kid, but won't beat Sellmer. He won't headlock his way to State Finals again.
  7. No one he beat at Team State was a returning state placer....I'm done high jacking this thread, sorry to the admins for going off track!
  8. Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's not what he does...Not as easy and often as you make it sound anyway.
  9. I'd say majoring a returning state placer would be big for anyone.
  10. That's great! Congrats to him, apparently TOM understands something Intermat doesn't.
  11. From what I understand, first call is a stalemate, second call is a stalling. Justification being that the top wrestler earned the choice to get the ride out, so it is difficult to penalize him. I say that tongue in cheek because I wasn't there. If it was blatantly obvious he was trying to avoid wrestling by just dropping to the ankle and hanging on then I agree with the stalling because you still have to make an attempt to ride out the period.
  12. Anything can happen, but I don't think it's realistic to think he AA's this year. From the few times I've watched him it just looks like he's undersized for 184. He's a solid scrambler, but it's hard to do when you're undersized. On top of that, to be an AA you've got to be able to get away on bottom, or at least create some sort of movement, which looks like another weakness of his. Again I could be wrong because this is just from limited observations.
  13. Not that it really matters but Lahue also defaulted out after his loss to Red in the quarters. From what I've seen the kid has been wrestling year round since he was little. That may or may not have had something to do with it, only he and his family and coaching staff have the answer to that.
  14. Heritage Hills, Oldham Co. (KY), Male (KY), Jeffersonville, South Dearborn, Franklin Central, Lawrenceburg, Paoli, Evansville Harrison, Charlestown, TC Howe and Madison
  15. The 2nd and 3rd of January. Falls on a Friday and Saturday.
  16. He's still riding on the credentials of kids that would have been great even without him there. (i.e. Escobedo, Hernandez, Coughlin, Chalfant etc.) I'm gonna guess he'll be gone when his son graduates.
  17. With the exception of 220, all of them were SS qualifiers last year and 2 of them were ticket rounders.
  18. Bam! My 2 minutes of research is busted. So my logic was.....what's softer than a pillow?
  19. Ok I'm digging wwwaaayyyy deep here, but since they have no commons (that I know of) and no other way to decide other than just talking it out....Red has a win over Jaden Enriquez who has a tech fall win over Corey Shie, who has a win over Carter Happell who beat Nick Lee at Fila Cadet Nationals. All matches occurring within the past year. I know at that level none of this matters; these are just talking points. Also, I am a big Lee fan and was one that was taking him over Micic last year so I have nothing against him, I just can't justify putting him over Red right now.
  20. I was also wrong on this one, but the kid is going to be just fine. No need for people to jump off the bandwagon after taking a loss to one of the top recruits in the nation. Also, if this actually happened, his reaction was probably justified. He was one of the best wrestlers in the history of Indiana. I would've done the same thing.
  21. Evan Eldred from Westfield seems to be quietly going about his business. SQ as a freshman and lost to James in the ticket round last year. With an AA finish at Fargo, I'm sure he's got some confidence coming into the season.
  22. It wasn't so much that way for me and at that point we're just splitting hairs. Pepple should have probably gotten the nod just because he had a common opponent win over Hoskins. I think they're interchangeable at 8 and 9 though, because of Konraths big wins at Fargo over Mattin and Timmins.
  23. 1. Chad Red 2. Nick Lee 3. Brandon James 4. Blake Rypel 5. Drew Hughes 6. Tommy Forte 7. Shawn Streck 8. Paul Konrath 9. Garrett Pepple 10. Brock Hudkins
  24. Good for him. I always enjoyed watching him wrestle and his hard nosed, no frills style will suit him well in college. Good luck!
