  1. y2, Just a thought for the solution to the final 2 weeks. Maybe a few teams can get together and have a tourney that maybe rotates depending on who advances during the team portion, or get an additional point for an extra mactch or tourney for those that do not advance past the Sectionals. Some teams may welcome a couple weeks to get wrestlers that are injuried a little bit more healthy. wcs145, I say a one and a half week span. Use the current set up dividing the Sectionals. I do not think there is Sectional with more than 12 teams...that is no more than two rat tail match-ups that can take place on Wednesday. 8 Team format on Saturday.....Semi-State with current format on Wednesday....Team State on Saturday where Sectionals once was. Now the draw may be the problem, however I think it can be overlooked becasue regardless of where they meet the best team should come out of the Sectional.
  2. I would like to see the team portion before the Individual as well. I think you could realisticlly combine Sectionals and Regionals into one weekend. I don't have specifics to my theory here, but think it could be done. Wrestlebacks included, not full but at least from possiblly quarterfinals on. I would say eliminate the individual scoring to determine the team sectional champ(natlchamp2005 should like the sound of this!), and have the team portion the two weeks prior to the individual portion. Again I don't have specifics, but think if we sat down could come up with someting.
  3. Wow, I can't believe that the picture of the guys beating a dead horse has surfaced in this topic.
  4. Actually, I would put EC in there before Hammond, still some very good areas in Hammond, don't get me wrong we do have some rough spots, but I would still say the better areas outweigh the bad.
  5. I am sorry, anybody that thinks that having the caliber of kids that were on the CP team at the time the Tsitsis and Roach family were weighing their options on where to move is being naive(sp? sorry clive) I am sure there were other factors as well. What they did was nothing illegal. They made a bona fide move into the CP district. I think they would be pretty silly not to consider how the wrestling program was considering the caliber type wrestler they both are. OTR, don't think you can put Hammond and Gary in the same category.
  6. Boy some people get a whiff of a State Championship and think they can start telling pepole how to spell! 8) Cogradulations Buldawgs! Nise job dis weakend!
  7. hey rat, Maybe down in Marion county or the other 90 counties in the state, but up here in good ole lake that theft charge would get pled down to a conversion charge with a sentence of probation for 6 months.
  8. As said in another post, Iwill walk a pretty far distance if CP does not finsih as State Champs after the last two matches!
  9. I will walk some pretty far distance if CP is not State Champs after these last two matches!
  10. Sweet video. How can anyone not wanna just drop everything they're doing at that moment and go for a workout after seeing that!
  11. Yeah I do not think they really worry to much about weight. Anyone remember Morton's Chris Buckler wrestling TJ Williams. Chris was well over his wrestling weight.
  12. How are you pairing the wrestlers?
  13. Coach Wadkins, I know I was shocked that year when he beat Eddie at the Semi-State, after that weekend he seemed to ride the momentum to the title that year.
  14. I guess I will take it a step further, can anyone post the individual results or a link to them for each of the head2head match-ups?
  15. Ahh yes great headlockers...... one can not mention great headlockers and leave 2x State Champ Adam Doherty off the list.
  16. silence dogoood, 1st PD call, no legs in. 2nd PD call legs in 3rd PD legs came in as wright was in a tripod.
  17. Chuck, I did not think they even weighed in for this event, I know at least when I participated in it they did not. Hey that was ages ago though it seems!
  18. 07 State Pickem Champ>>>>XCard 08 State Pickem Champ>>>>Tpompei 09 State Results>>>>>>> XCard 832 Tpompei 832 Funny how things work out sometime.
  19. Top 10 finish this year is an imrpovement from last year
  20. If you thought that was crazy, how aabout this for irony 05 State Finals, Friday night first round.......Tim McGinley, Cathedral vs. Javier Salas, Merrillville. McGinley loses 4-3 OT on a penalty point in OT because of a full nelson. Fast Forward 09 State Finals, Saturday Semi-Finals.........Gavin McGinley, Cathedral vs. Keon Jones, Merrillville. McGinley WINS 3-2 OT on a penalty point in OT because of a full nelson. I would say this is pretty crazy.
  21. drooke, Are you trying to wake an 800lb gorilla?
  22. OTR, I was fan of them. Anything that puts a few dollars back in my pocket, I am usually in favor of. Think of this way, you were able to buy an extra "adult beverage" with the money saved!
  23. I do not believe he was, has a right to make observation. I can see how the CP fans would take offense to this post though. I think it is unfair to compare the two, if we are comparing then nobody should compain when someone gets on here and bashes a "kid" in high school's actions. I agree with your comment, during a dual it can wait til after the dual is completed. However to say they are to busy is not a valid reason, there should be someone there that can extend a courtesy of shaking or "knuckle punching" the opposing wrestler's hand. I would say none, howver I would also say after the match is concluded would not in my book be considered "during" the course of competition. As could people who support shaking hands. Is for fun discussion on here, which after all is the point of this board. I do not personally know them, but I do agree with you. I don't think they intentionally turned their back on the kid.
