  1. Should there be any teams that had 13 forfeits? I thought if you entered 2 or less wrestlers, forfeits become byes. My next question would be, if they only entered two wrestlers, and one of the two or both for some reason did not wrestle, do their spots become byes or forfeits?
  2. Looks like some potential semi final matches or even championship matches in about 2 weeks. Things that make you go hmmmmm?
  3. One that is often times decided before Final matches are decided, another disrespect of the upper weights.
  4. Definitely would not add much to the day to add wrestlebacks at this level of the tournament. It adds 28 more matches in your Semi-Final round and 28 more after. I think some can argue though that at the end of the day, even with wrestlebacks, your Top 4 will probably remain the same as without the wrestlebacks.
  5. I figured I would help you out before Bob really got on you, he is a stickler for grammar and punctuation. Especially the use of your and you're!
  6. This made me chuckle, well done @grappleapple
  7. How about Vertical Pairings?
  8. [panegyric]Now this is a Hall of Fame worthy reply![/panegyric]
  9. Ok, just wondering. Never been there with three across. Is it close to the side walls? I only ask this because some Officials will call the out of bounds differently if this is a safety issue.
  10. Question for Regionals...will it be three mats ran across or pyramid with one set of bleachers up?
  11. Can you give a brief reason as to what held this weight class up?
  12. Taken from Winter Bulletin @Wrestling Scholar 6. Determination of seeded wrestlers is given in order of importance: Varsity contests are the only record submitted for seeding consideration. a. Head to head competition current year; (The wrestler with the most head to head wins gets the seed. If they have beaten each other an equal number of times, then the winner of the last match gets the seed. Head to head is counted at any level of interscholastic competition. Matches against teammates are not counted for seeding purposes.); b. Record against common opponents; c. Semi‐State quarterfinalist, or higher in previous year IHSAA Tournament Series; d. Win percentage. A contestant with the best overall record (winning percentage) who has wrestled at least 10 matches; For seeding purposes, forfeits should not be included in a wrestler’s record. e. Farthest advancement in previous year IHSAA State Tournament Series; f. Draw by lot. Criteria is reset after determining each seed. Criteria is reset after determining each seed NOTE: A wrestler with less than ten matches may not be seeded ahead of a wrestler with at least ten matches and a winning record unless he/she meets criteria in a, b or c. A wrestler with a losing record may not be seeded unless he/she meets criteria a, b or c unless there are less than six (6) wrestlers in the bracket.
  13. No, ADs submit a Sectional roster with up to 3 kids eligible at each weight class. What is submitted on track is Sectional entries for each weight. If he is gonna be injured and questionable to wrestle, maybe to allow for another wrestler to be seeded that may not have, if the #1 guy was entered? Once you are unseeded, you are not moved, unless you are the last drawn in wrestler moving into the #6 seeded slot. This would only occur if there is no replacement for a seeded wrestler. I am sure I can come up with other reasons, but I think they are few and far between as to why this would be done. Did you ask the Coach why?
  14. I disagree with seeding B first, I feel that it should move to the next criteria. A is at a disadvantage because he has not wrestled an extra match against either B or C. Also, if we are talking record against common opponents, then we should add up ALL common opponents that each of the three have wrestled. Of course this could take some time to compute, making for longer meetings. I think the fact that we all have different opinions on this is even more reason to move on to the next criteria.
  15. If a wrestler is not on your Sectional roster submitted by your AD, he can not be entered. Also, if no wrestler is entered at the weight class during the seeding meeting, then no wrestler can be entered later. If they did enter a wrestler, the new wrestler can be entered as a replacement. If the entered wrestler was a seeded wrestler, he is removed and new entry is placed in the #6 seed and everyone moves up. If they are unseeded, then they are entered as if the were the original wrestler. An advantage of not submitting a deserving seed is to remain separated from a higher seed. Seeds 2,3, and 6 are opposite of the #1 seed. This would be one reason I could imagine this would be done, not sayin I agree with it either, just trying to answer your question as to the why.
  16. I hope these Sectionals have plenty of chairs for all of these seatings that will go on tonight.
  17. Not to mention using words that I have to google sometimes! I am sure with the post season looming, he will be back here with his statistacal updates regarding the Team State series.
  18. I feel like I am gonna be the Ron Santo of this Hall of Fame vote.
  19. Best ones I have seen this year was Columbus East. I thought the fit on their shorts and shirts were ideal and looked good too. Everybody else I have seen wear the shorts I feel have been a little bit on the baggy side, but as far as functionality, there were no issues I seen during the matches. An ideal thing to do when introducing anything new however, is to reevaluate how it worked out for the year and make necessary adjustments. Crossing my fingers.
  20. Merrillville
  21. Well he is retired now, so he has a little bit more time on his ugh...hands?
