  1. It's not about "proof" of anything. you accept the match and all the comp stuff, flight, hotel, food, gear... and put your teammates and entire group in a very embarrassing situation. It wouldn't seem to be how a "#1" rolls. And to even mention "hate"... well... whatever
  2. Why is it hate? that's your word, you have to first care enough to hate, so... I think that removes the word "hate" from this wrestling conversation. "Pretty solid rumor is that Red Sr. Proposed meeting at 140 earlier in the week and was rebuffed by Pletcher's camp. So, Pletcher could've had the match if he really wanted it. Doesn't erase Red's weight issue, but makes it clear that Pletcher could've tried for revenge if he really wanted to do so." Proposed at "140"? why would 3 pounds be a sticking point? Wouldn't seem to make sense. Would it? No offense, but I don't buy it. That would mean that Pletcher knew Red wasn't going to wrestle.
  3. ah hahaha... yeah I guess if ya gotta lock the other thread for whatever reason, cause ya might hurt someone's feelings I guess... LOL! continue here... if you want to wrestle ya don't miss weight. do ya? Pletchers a stud!! And showed up like one.
  4. In reality it seems this has hurt freestyle attendance in IN. The ISWA needs to see and understand this mistake and make it right. The old qualifying rule was much better. Why the hell would a kid have to qualify in freestyle and not folkstyle??? Just plain foolish and hurting the wrestling community at the same time. The ISWA has made some good moves recently, this is not one of them. We could bite the bullet and quality at one tournament but to spend the $$ to travel to another then do it again for FS State is basically holding interested wrestlers and their parents hostage. Im not wild about the boycott thing but in this situation it might be absolutely called for, and the right way to show your displeasure.
  5. yeah not close today. IN is far deeper today than in Angel's day. It will be very difficult for him to match Angel's carrier. If I were a betting man I bet against it. JMO.
  6. For the Juniors they ran two mats for each weight class with even number matches on one and odd on the others all day. It moved as fast as I've seen a 45 man bracket go. First available could be confusing with this many matches and wresters.
  7. LOL... yeah it was difficult time frame without a doubt. That combined with the fact that conditioning has slipped some after a little time off after HS season. Performance level did drop some later in the day.
  8. Very well run this year. Juniors started at 8am. 33 wrestlers at 138 and 45 wrestlers at 145 and we were out by 2:30. Kind of tough with only 20 mins between matches after the third round. But they did keep it moving. Well worth attending.
  9. I watched 2 years ago as this kid struggled at the sectional. His work ethic has vaulted him to the top. This kid respects the sport and it shows in his humble demeanor. Fantastic job Jake!! Congratulations young man.
  10. While it's true everyone is entitled to their opinion and IN has vastly improved over the past 5-7 years at the national level. IL numbers alone are much high as far as participation in the sport. That alone create a huge depth difference. I do believe IL has been top 2 in fargo AA's for a few years now I do also know for a fact that a Yates vs Red match could have happened...
  11. Right On! Maybe the most entertaining thread of the season!!
  12. You know we want back in!!! 126 Jason Crary Munster 36-2 semi state runner up @138
  13. Lee is the offensive wrestler Red the more defensive wrestler. Looking back at the match between Red and Pletcher the offence was Pletcher's with Red scoring defensively. I think Lee's body type will work to his advantage much longer than Pletcher. Plus IMO Lee is better than Pletcher. A comparison to the Micic/Lee Match doesn't work for me. It was two years ago and Lee as a freshman didn't really have a good shot against Micic as a senior.
  14. Still some great memories from mville. But today EC did a fantastic job delivering a quality product. With a large set of seats that could have seated another 1500 rolled up to allow for video and pics on the front side and warmups on the back side, there was still plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Just a real nice flow to the tournament from every perspective. And done by 6:30!! Great job by all the EC Central folks. Thank You!!
  15. yeah, I'll take Lee... and the over...

    EC

and that is a well coached group in Portage, but sorry throw45 not to "rat" anyone out but I've seen some of the Portage boys at "the Academy"
  17. wow... half the state champs out of EC. IMO you got the favs that will require more than just a bit of an upset with the asterisks here.
  18. LOL... I'll take that bet. how much? yes he did
  19. Isn't that seating about the same as mville? 3000+ less than EC. LC is about 3-4 miles off of route 30 and another 10-15 from 65, those are the only ways to get to LC. EC is right off the toll road maybe 2-3 miles, and cline ave. 2-3 miles. much more convenient access from every direction than LC. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the new semi-state host.
