  5. I am a 2nd generation Bellmont wrestler. I wasn't a great wrestler. But I have always been proud that both my father and I earned a varsity letter for the Braves. I have a 9 year old son. I decided when he was born that I would never push him to wrestle as I was. However, I would embrace any interest that he showed. In the back of my mind, I have always hoped that he would be a 3rd generation Bellmont Brave. He has never shown much interest in wrestling. He went to matches when my grandfather was alive. But, never said the words "Dad I want to wrestle." This week he has talked a lot about wreslting. I am guessing that is because some of his 3rd grade classmates are talking. We watched wrestling all weekend on Broadcast Sports and IHSAA. He was excited during the face-offs and witnessed as I had goose bumps on my arms as soon as the lights went off on the computer. He even stayed home and gave me text message updates for the first 3 final matches while I had to run an errand. This may sound stupid to some of you. But, I am so excited that the excitement of state has gotten a hold of him without me pushing it on him. We will be there in person next year! He is already looking forward to it.

  12. Somebody help. I am sitting in a shanty not catching crap and can't get the updated brackets. Still shows result from 103 and 112. Nothing much else.
  13. I was a 2nd generation wrestler at Bellmont. Both my father and uncle wrestled varsity at Bellmont. I had great hopes that my son would be a 3rd generation Brave. However, he has shown no interest in wrestling. I was pushed as a kid to wrestle. I won't push him. So far, he is a heck of a 8 year old 2nd baseman.
  14. I believe I lost 25 matches in the first round. Choke choke.
  15. I believe Bellmont had only 4 seniors this year. All three state streeters were underclassman.
  16. Mr. Maldonado, My son and daughter know that alcoholic beverages are for adults. They will learn as the get older that they will not be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages in my home as long as they are under age. It is a rule that I won't bend because it is the law. They will know that teenagers can and do have fun without breaking the law and drinking when they are underage. My son and daughter watch me drink on occasion. I am 33 years old. They also watch me drive a car, carry a handgun, and do other things that I am able to do because the law says I am old enough to do so. I won't let my kid drive when he is 12 because he doesn't have his license nor will I let him carry a handgun because once again the law says he has to be a certain age to do so. Your point about watching the superbowl and seeing the commercials is different from being on a high school sports forum. The difference is that we were watching grown adults and not high school kids. I don't know what your stance is on underage drinking. Maybe it's not a big deal to you. But I work in criminal justice and I see bad situations each and every day. Salt
  17. I removed the topic on "favorite alcoholic beverages." I am a father of a young boy. I would have blocked this site from the computer had I come on here and seen him reading that topic. Are you kidding me? How could you actually consider putting a post like this on a HIGH SCHOOL website? I am not into banning people from this site as it is not my job. But if it were my site, the person who started that post would be at or near it. It's called common sense! Use it! This site has gotten a bit out of control lately by people complaining and making degrading posts about a variety of topics. Do you people remember what we had before? Although I don't always agree with everything that Joe says, this is his baby. Respect it and remember what it would be like without it.
