  1. For the most triggered coach and the most obnoxious poster on TheINMat, here is my point: Said internet antagonist dad has an oldest son who is one of the the most prolific wrestlers in a program's history. Dad is maniacal on a wrestling forum about the depth and quality of a said county in the state of Indiana while representing the former school. As soon as successful kid graduates and program future has a smidge of uncertainty, said dad with younger siblings abandons the program for the rival high school 7 miles away in the same county. The end. It has little to do with transfers and everything to do with loyalty. And, on top of everything else, if you are going to be obnoxious with your forum propaganda for about the 3rd deepest county in the state, hold your ground and build your program like a man. Maybe that way the county will have depth and not just be one program. Can't wait for the EMD tights and white ASICS at Gainbridge.
  2. Naselroad and Tilton were the best wrestlers outside of Cathedral coming from Pendleton Heights. I have Naselroad vs. Glithero in the 152 finals. And I think Tilton can beat Hansen at 182. I also have Charlie Euson (EC) winning at 160. Critical Regional Finals loses puts CHS's 106 Gavin Bragg (who is wrestling lights out) and Grayson Harvey 195 in peril. I'm thinking the Irish get 8 out. Look for a coming out party for our youngster heavyweights...
  3. Garcia - if every dad from #thecounty transfers their kids to the rival school in the same county, it pretty much nullifies #thecounty. Pimp Cascade, Danville, and even Avon all you want, but you left them for alleged greener pastures. I would have bet on the Schoefs and Riouxs. I hope it works out for you. Enter SpongeBob meme. Brownsburg wrestling must be beaming.
  4. We only recognize IHSAA titles at Cathedral.
  5. Take it easy, Mater Dei guy. Nothing directed toward your darling 2003 team. My point was let's drift a little farther back than the 2000s for comparison. Also, unsure why 2016 Warren Central or 2017 Brownsburg were brought in to the convo other than WC scored 105pts that year. Nothing extra special about those teams. As for your Cathedral rant, we were definitely the team of the 2010s. 4 titles and a runner-up. EMD was the program of the 2000s (and who knows if they would have won all those titles in individual format). EMD could start a run, but looks doubtful. As mentioned previous, I don't think anyone touches CP as they'll march into Gainbridge with too many ECC champs.
  6. Pretty short-sighted examples. The Delta and Cathedral 1980s teams were equally stacked with different team scoring. The 1991 Lawrence North team had 4 champs. Certainly the Griffith trio of the early 2000s. And, let's not forget Cathedral had four in the finals just 3 years ago. I think Crown Point can have a historic year, but there have been some exceptional runs by some great programs over the last few decades.
  7. Cathedral 13. Dillon Graham broke his ankle in practice and is out at 145.
  8. 106 Cathedral Gavin Bragg over North Central Oliver Wilson 138 Cathedral Luke Gonzalez over Undefeated Mt. Vernon Fortville Carson Johnson 6-4
  9. 11 placers for Brownsburg? Get over yourself. You don't even have one lock for a champ. Crown Point wins this title by 25 points. If lucky, Brownsburg gets second. I'll take EMD or CG to get 2nd over Brownsburg.
  10. Ps, EC wins 34-30 over #1 in Cincinnati Elder. Tell DecB. They have a squad.
  11. Peep an Andrew Wilson sighting on Wednesday night...
  12. Incredible venue! Great theater for the sport! Nice work, East Central!!!
  13. Paragraph break, big fella. I appreciate the new forum passion, but GD I felt like I was holding my breath through that diatribe.
  14. New commish. Never know. IHSAA added the success factor to nullify P/Ps, but I don’t think it has been significant. Let’s not forget Evansville Mater Dei is #1 in the Power Poll having another great year and just beat Cathedral heads-up. And, Roncalli is Top 10. The IHSAA governs all sports equally, not just wrestling. Historically, we haven’t had enough proximity between P/P schools in the state to have a conference. Cathedral is basically a default member of the Greater Catholic League (GCL) of Cincinnati for football playing Moeller, Elder, and St. X last year, while also playing Louisville Trinity. Cathedral has hit Cincy and Detroit the last 3 years for rasslin’. Our biggest challenge is scheduling. We hit all of the good Indiana tourneys (Traicoff, Al Smith) and host an aggressive opening 6-Way. So, not sure we have better options until IHSAA relaxes their travel restrictions. Ps. If anyone wants to see some good Catholic revelry, stop by Cathedral vs Roncalli on Wednesday night, 1/22. It is Archbishop Charles Thompson Night. There will be a short tribute to His Holiness’s misguided social crusade. Kidding aside, these boys have been wrestling each other for 12 years now and there is no love lost. J/V at 6p. Varsity at 7p under the lights at Cathedral’s Welch Activity Center. See you there.
  15. Congrats EMD. So many great Cathedral - Mater Dei match-ups. Throw in the Crown Point littles and the IHSAA title is gonna be awesome.
  16. Cathedral’s Twitter has updates for the Irish @chsswamp
  17. I would argue it is the Littell effect. If he’s healthy, 126 and 132 are equally top heavy and nowhere to hide.
  18. Matt Howard is still running bout sheets. Hoping Mousey’s is still serving 6oz jars of Pabst. Such a great part of Indiana. Good luck to Cambridge City, Milan, Union County, and the rest of the brethren from SE Indiana. PS. As the Rat loves his Region BDogs, I love my lads from East Central. 3 likely place winners dotted up with a loaded team of depth. Gotta believe they are close to Top10. But, DecBell is the authority, so who knows. #spartanbowl #rax #howards
  19. Brice Coleman WC over Tyce Freije RONCALLI 14-2
  20. Totally agree with you on tourney team. I would say they are the favorite going into the Al Smith. I think the easiest way to compare a dual is the victory over Chesterton (39-34). In that match, Crown Point had pins at 120, 138, and 160. In a Cathedral dual, I think CP could lose all 3 of those matches. That is a 27 point swing in those matches alone.
