My boy has been on a couple of duals team with Farnell this summer. He's fun to watch. Looking pretty dominant. Good things to come for him.

I think that match may have surprised both kids. Neither probably knew the other was that solid . Kellan said “Dad, that kid is good...”

Kellan Carter (Scottsburg) finished 8-1 Silver AA (132 lb Smackdown Black). Team finished 7th in silver bracket of developmental. He knocked off several state qualifiers from various states. His only loss was a decision to a kid that hadn’t lost at Disney in two straight years. Score was 10-11 going into the third period. Could have gone either way. It was a good week and he’s definitely gaining confidence after missing last season due to injury.

The girl dancing in the vid is John’s wife. This part of the video was shot in Uniontown, IN just outside Seymour. She borrowed a Jennings County Panther’s high school cheer outfit for the vid. I could tell you 100 things about this video.

Elbow sleeve suggestions for UCL tear (Tommy John surgery)

Luke Robinson (Louisville) Highly recommend. He used a tendon out of my son’s forearm to replace the torn ligament. Was told it would be stronger when it completely heals. -
Looking for advice on a quality legal elbow sleeve. My boy tore his UCL in June while training. Had surgery in July. Currently recovering and doing therapy. He’ll need something for support when he gets cleared in a few months. Anyone out there with experience on elbow sleeves? His recovery is coming along well but his funny bone nerve was displaced and therefore it triggers easily.

I think this statement is painting with a broad brush. Accessibility can be extremely difficult and expensive for small school wrestlers to be able to keep up with big school wrestling programs. It’s not impossible but $140 month academy fees, driving 30-60 miles to have a quality wrestling partner isn’t something that bigger school kids have to do as frequently. Having a local mat room of stud partners would be nice. As of now, I know my kid won’t have a quality partner next season, his junior year. We’ll spend the summer rolling at least 2 times a week somewhere but it probably won’t be local. It ain’t as easy as some would think and it doesn’t always mean the commitment of the athlete is lacking. It’s just hard.

Can a wrestler participate at frosh / soph state if they have previously placed at state as a freshman and only qualified as a sophomore? Can they still compete at frosh / soph state tourney as a sophomore?

Yen Ching has the best Chinese I’ve ever had. It’s right off the Lloyd expressway. Turoni’s pizza is fantastic. A couple great places if you get hungry in Evansville.
