Crown Point just built a new middle school, additions to all the other schools, new sports complex at the high school, thousands of houses being built, new hospital, building more stores and restaurants it is the fast growing city in the state.  They’re recruiting so much that we don’t have enough Construction contractors to keep up with them.  It’s unbelievable that people are moving to that great community and giving there kids a great opportunity to live there.

I have been telling everyone this year this Dogs team is special. 
 
The weekend is finally here to prove how great this team is. 
 
12 here, I am calling 11 medals I think we can put 8 under the lights I hope they have lights, 6 champs. It's going to be a great day to be a dog. Even the purple dogs will have a solid day. 
 
Just a heads up we will be better next year, so I think the team trophy is staying region

While i was still coaching at Hammond Gavit we had 2 State qualifiers back-to-back 2018 & 2019 Jamari Washington & Jaymiere Johnson both black wrestlers 2 of the best kids we ever coached, Jamari graduated from Wabash College and Jaymiere is attending Calumet College Of St Joes graduating this year i believe.

Accountability is a tough agenda for most!

Something needs to be done about wrestlers who wrestle on the edge of the mat. Last 2 years Center Grove  190 against Purdy last year Henry this year and anybody good last year and this year wrestles so you can’t get points against him it is the worst thing to watch. Goes out of bounds probably 10-15 times anytime close to score and stalling is never called until crowd goes crazy for minutes. And officials are so different on calling stalling it needs to be fixed.

I don’t think bad wrestling exists up north. I am originally from Michigan City, Indiana, but I went to school in Indianapolis as I moved with my mom and brothers while my dad stayed up north. I didn’t start wrestling until eighth grade, but I quickly noticed A LOT of the best wrestlers were coming from up north. I’ve always considered the Region to be “top heavy” with the top-ranked wrestlers often being from that area. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a big metro area, but it’s certainly my favorite place to be because there’s no place like home, and the wrestling is top tier. I don’t think bad wrestling exists in that area. Every opponent I had from there was tough, each school had a solid schedule, if you competed in the DAC, you had some guts, and every wrestler up there had a certain air of toughness about them. This isn’t to say Northern, Northeastern, Eastern, Western, Central or Southern Indiana aren’t great and competitive, but some of the toughest opponents I remember were from the Region because they were (and still are) a hotbed of wrestling that gave my teammates and I some of our hardest matches. There’s always some D1 talent lurking there and a huge concentration of high placing wrestlers.

Concerning the three coaches arguing a call at team state, I believe it was two of them, but I could be wrong.  The coaches were correct and the call on the mat was incorrect.  However, I agree with you, the throwing of the rule book was not a good look and probably warranted a team point deduction.

And none of the top 4 are at new castle or Fort Wayne.  Not sure why its worth throwing shade at the ECC SS. 
 
Some Fort Wayne area schools are  lucky they moved Rochester out.  They'd possibly see a three-peat SS championship as a 1A.
 
Region wrestling is legit.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out regarding Preston.  Results of a CT scan and other tests have come back.  Nothing is broken and he will make a full recovery.  
 
As far as what happened, the Mater Dei wrestler had been winning the entire match.  An illegal slam was called.  It was not intentional.  Whether it was an illegal slam or not, I don’t really care.  We were never taking a dive.  Brownsburg doesn’t roll like that.  It goes against everything we believe in.  If I thought it was intentional, It would be a different story.  There is no doubt in our mind that it was just a result of two dudes trying to punch their ticket to state. 
 
It was pretty chaotic as all of this was happening as I’m sure you can all imagine.  Given that it was a neck/head injury, I wanted to give medical people access to Preston.  Once they had time to check Preston out, I took that opportunity to talk to Preston.  There was never any talk or consideration of taking a dive. Preston would never do that.  He was in a lot of pain and upset.  He has had a lot of adversity this season. He tore his ACL at IHPO and has been working through that pain and frustration all season.  I just explained to Preston what had happened and that I was going to forfeit the match.  I told him we were losing…and it would not be fair to take the trip to state away from the Mater Dei kid.  Preston agreed and said he would never do that.  There was no reversal of the call or anything.  I just went up to officials and said we are forfeiting the match.  
 
Whoever said Preston was walking around saw someone else.  He was taken out on a stretcher and to the emergency room.

Weak is a really poor word choice. CP had 11 champs at regionals and they were rewarded with 6 different semi final matches against top 5 state ranked opponents (4 ranked in the top 2). Brownsburg has 0 possible matchups this weekend against top 5 ranked opponents in the semis. Both teams have 4 wrestlers who will face top 10 ranked opponents just to get to state. This is not me arguing that East Chicago is as tough as Evansville. But to say Crown Point has a weak path at semi state is just untrue. Put Crown Point in Evansville semi state in exchange for brownsburg or center grove and I guarantee CP gets 10+ qualifiers these past 3 seasons. Center Grove literally sent 12 to state last year and Crown Point was significantly stronger than Center Grove was. Crown Point is actually at a disadvantage in some cases since Brownsburg and Center Grove are in the same regional because that splits them apart at semi state. Then Crown Point has to take Brownsburg and Center Grove both in the same day to win state in some cases. You would think if they had such an easy path that they would have less ranked opponents overall as a team in the ticket round and semis but it’s actually the opposite.
 
I’m also not saying it’s like this every year, this is the first year I decided to research both CP and BB’s path to state and was shocked to find overwhelming evidence that proved CP had just as much obstacles thrown at them as brownsburg. Yes I understand Haines vs Henderson is a death draw, but that could of been prevented if Haines took at least 2nd at regionals. Gibbs vs May is a crime but so is Sessa vs Rivera. Two top 8 guys battling to make it. 
 
All I’m saying is Crown Point is gonna have to come prepared Saturday and be ready to battle because this team race is far from over. Crown Point will have to earn this title just like Brownsburg and Center Grove. 

Success recruits itself, you want to win and be legends go with us you want to battle to qualify and wrestle a bad schedule go somewhere else 
 
Us Bburg center grove and mater dei are putting in the work and its showing on the mat. Parents want their kids around success

That Clinton Shepherd has had an okay season. I wouldn’t be surprised seeing him on the podium this year.

Lots of great matches in store, and plenty of rematches. Looking forward to possible Rowles v. Mosier, Stebbins v. Abbott, Stebbins v. Myers, Leech v. Detwiler, Martin v. Hinton.
