  1. Him and his girlfriend were fighting so he didn't feel like wrestling.
  2. I guess I'll start the predictions off lol. 106:Montgomery winner by Dec over Cottey. BB-3 PM-0 113:Kung winner by fall or Ff(??) BB-3 PM-6 120: Fair winner by Dec over Campbell BB-3 PM-9 126: Mills winner by Major over Zepeda BB-7 PM-9 132- Kreitzer winner by Fall over Land BB-13 PM-9 138- Mulkey winner by Dec over Lowery BB-16 PM-9 145-Warren winner by Dec over Asbury BB-16 PM-12 152- Lee winner by Major over Servies BB-20 PM-12 160-Rainbolt winner by Dec over Cookerly BB-20 PM-15 170- Davis winner by Dec over Jean-Baptiste BB-20 PM-18 182-Walton winner by Dec over Warren BB-23 PM-18 195-Lane winner by Dec over Glaze BB-23 PM-21 220-Hammond winner by Fall over Aiken BB-23 PM-27 285-Peterson winner by Fall over Jones BB-29 PM-27 I have this being really close again obviously. I think this is the best chance for PM to pull the upset. IF I made a mistake on a wrestler maybe not being able to wrestle the weight I have them at let me know please.or if you see something that may make more sense let me know. EDIT: FIXED SCORE BECAUSE I CANT ADD AND I CHANGED IT TO WALTON WINNING BECAUSE AFTER SEEING AND AGREEING WITH YALL THAT WALTON MAY BE A LITTLE TO BIG.THIS WAY THE MATCH WILL GO DOWN TO THE FINAL MATCH WITH BB NEEDING AT LEAST A MAJOR DECISION TO TIE IT. ONE OF most exciting Duals ever if this prediction is correct lol
  3. This may be a little silly really to some but i just keep thinking about it. I am just wondering if they maybe out smarted their self because they panicked maybe because of score? Not downing any coach from Cathedral at all. They know way more than I will ever know.but this is a discussion board and I would like to see what everyone else says about it. I think by doing what they did then they put alot of pressure on HAVING to get bonus points most matches against above average wrestlers..if it stays like what it was supposed to then just some wins by decision would of worked. I'm wondering if the score made them kind of panic and gamble a little which is totally understandable because nothing was going their way. No close calls or anything. And McGinley was very noticeably frustrated with Refs and some really questionable calls like the one that started the whole dual and very understandably so.Anyone woulda been. I actually was feeling bad after a while for him because every call was going against them it seemed. Just wondering if this affected his decision to FF to fair or if it was the plan all along.so with it being a very slow day because of weather then I figured we'd spend a little time talking/discussion/opinionating(word??lol) about something I tried to figure out and would like a little more in depth answer/reasoning behind it. Ok so the score at the time of the Fair ff was 21-10 Perry was ahead. If I'm thinking about this right(which could totally be wrong and this is why I'm asking) then Sammy Fair would have had to beat Walendzak at 120 for them to win. if they wrestled Walendzak at 120..here is what I got and please again correct me if in wrong PLEASE! 126 lets just say Zepeda beat Andrew Wilson(he wrestled 126 against portages#5 ranked poynter and lost 23-9 . and lost to #10 ranked kelly 16-6 so I believe Zepeda may win by a few points at most because Wilson is very solid.) The score would be 24-10 Perry. 132 Mosconi pinned land 24-16 138 Melloh Dec Lowery 24-19 145 Slivka Dec Warren (which I personally think he'd major him next time but he kinda knew he had to wrestle a different kind of match and takedowns wouldn't get him a pin and a team win.) but again Warren is tough as nails so I could be wrong on this also.the score would be 24-22 Perry and wed still have the 120 result left. So IF and this is a big if Zepeda beat Wilson(Wilson actually could hang with Zepeda and pull out the win IMO) then Fair would have had to beat Walendzak for Perry to win.it woulda been a #3 vs #4 so it woulda been a good one.. if Wilson beat Zepeda then score woulda been 25-21 cathedral and Fair would of had to at least major walendzak which was not gonna happen lol. now if Zepeda beat Wilson which he was probably favored then the dual woulda went to the winner of the match of the dual #3 vs #4 Fair against Walendzak! I know some people are gonna say shoulda coulda smoulda which I agree but just go to another topic lol. I just don't like giving up 6 points in a huge dual like this. That's a pin.6 points is like almost 1/4 of points you gave up.now if you have a Bratton or parris and you are almost positive you can bump him and get at least a tech fall then I understand. But no way they were really positive that walendzak could move up and at the worst tech fall a really solid Zepeda. I know this is alot of info to process and think about situations but like I said it's a really slow weather day and this was a huge meet and this was a huge turning point and decision so i would love to get other opinions. Thanks alot and again no disrespect to any cathedral coach. They are some of the best not only in Indiana but in the nation. But again just wondering if they may have panicked a little because of how dual was going and the score at time.because they were actually gaining momentum at the time and won the few matches before the Ff.thanks in advance. And I don't want an argument please.
  4. The topic does not say " who us undefeated versus indiana opponents only" to say an out of state loss is insane. Alot of wrestlers I know have like a third of their wins against out of state opponent's. They wrestle alot of Kentucky teams like St.X, Trinity,Oldham County and Etc. What does it matter if a kid loses to a out of state wrestler or not? That's kind of like a 1a school not counting losses against a 4a school(not really the same thing but you get the point lol) The only argument I can understand about a wrestler with a loss making is if a wrestler goes up a weight class to wrestle someone that weighs more than him. Then yes he has a loss but he is undefeated in a certain weight class. Now IMO that 1 loss to a great out of state wrestler does a whole lot more for you then an easy or dominant win against an in state wrestler.
  5. Even if both teams wrestle just two days prior?
  6. Is the link going to be posted here??
  7. Considering I lost all 4 years in the ticket round by 1 or 2 points with 3 of them being to the State Champion. I've always wondered how it woulda went down if we had wrestle backs.Im sure there are thousands that have wondered the same thing. I don't think it's asking something unreasonable. The crazy part is I have yet to talk to anyone who was against it.
  8. That's exactly how I feel.. nothing against Craig but I just think Rooks controls the match and would be surprised if Craig scored more than a point if that. Rooks just doesn't make many mistakes and if you don't take him down you have no chance because you more than likely aren't gonna get out from bottom and probably not gonna hold him down either.
  9. I just don't think so. I think it's a very bad matchup for Craig. I like Craig alot. I have him punching his ticket this year, I just don't see very many ways that he can score on Rooks. I'm thinking maybe 5-0 or possibly 7-0.
  10. I'm really interested in seeing how the sellmer and schoenegge match goes. I know sellmer is the better wrestler and has beat him several times in the past, but this is his first test of the year. I have both of them returning to the bank this year, so this could end up being the match of the day.
  11. Thank y'all so much. I really wanted to see this dual. I just wanted y'all to know and I'm sure I can speak for a whole lot of people by saying that we appreciate it so much and don't think for one second that every thing y'all have to do to make this work does not go unnoticed. Thanks so much again. Their is nothing better to do on a weekday especially then watch 2 nationally ranked teams go at it.
  12. If this is gona be live please tell me where I can find the link at. Thank you.
  13. I think it has 14 state qualifiers with a possible 3 state champs. The ℅ beside name is how confident I am. Alstott (75℅) Spears (50℅) Antunez (40℅) C.Rooks (98℅)(possible champ) (40℅) G.Rooks (100℅)(possible champ) (55℅) Craig(40℅) Combest (85℅)(possible champ)(35℅) Sellmer(83℅) Schoenegge(65℅) South(75℅) Fuller(65℅) Mosely(75℅) Spiller(50℅) Sonner(90℅)
  14. I don't know about handily but I definitely thinks he beats him. So that could set up a few crazy 126 ticket round matches. Maybe rooks/Willis or mills/egli or Garcia/ egli or rooks/Garcia. Matches that could be under the lights at the bank with different draws. Wow.
  15. When I wrestled I kind of liked what my coach did. He would only give you a max of 5 in a match if your opponent wasn't a regional qualifier or higher(it was harder to qualify for regional because they only took top 2) but if it was then obviously all of them would count.he had to wait and count them all up at the end of the season to see who qualified.
  16. I think anyone who has been around wrestling long enough including refs know when someone can take the kid down and pin him because he is a complete fish.o r if he is doing it because it is his best chance to score points and win the match against a decent opponent.
  17. Was actually the 1999 State Finals match against Scott Maddox. He had a overhook and trapped the other arm and just hipped into him with about 7 seconds to go. Was just all strength and willpower. Just had in his head he was not gonna lose.
  18. Do you know if the other 3 matches were forfeits? Just wondering if he's pinned everyone he's wrestled so far? If not who were the ones that didn't get pinned? Very impressive tho that he is about to be indianas all time pin leader.I am hoping someone gets some coverage of it so he can get the recognition he deserves and all of the people that didn't get to see it gets to. Thank you so much
  19. That's funny you say that about the 3 point stance because that's exactly what I thought was his best chance to slow him down. I don't think it's possible to stop him no matter if you are in a 3 point stance or a 300 point stance?. When they are that quick all you can hope to do is slow him down. It reminds me of a funny story of when I wrestled. I wrestled Nick Hull in the Spartan Classic Semis or Finals I believe it was and I remember what i was thinking after the first period was over. I was thinking it was physically not possible that another human could be as quick as he was. After watching the video several times over the years including recently with my dad, we always laugh at me when that third period starts. When it starts we were neutral and as the ref was blowing the whistle to wrestle, Hull just kinda flinched his head the slightest at the same time the ref was blowing the whistle to start and my dad swears till this day that I sprawled before the whistle was blown.??. There is no defense for something that you do not have time to react too. So that is why you have to already be down there as low as possible in the 3 point stance or some guys I've seen do very well slowing quickness down by kinda staying down low on one knee. I was really impressed with Decatur. I don't think we have anyone in Indiana that could beat him untill we get up around 138-145. I only see a few guys IN MY OWN OPINION that could beat him at the 138 pound weight class. I couldn't believe he wasn't on the P4P Rankings. Seems like a nice and humble kid too. The crazy thing is even tho he beat Asa convincingly, I think there was a lot of things that Asa did positive and some things that Asa could learn from this match to make him overall alot better wrestler in the future (ex. Knowing which wrestlers to use a 3 point stance against and which ones to have a squared stance against). Maybe they meet again some day in the NCAA Championships(when it truly matters) and he gets his payback. Good luck the rest of the year and more importantly stay healthy.
  20. Can you elaborate? Or does anyone have a video? All I saw was he had to get an escape to win in sudden death and I thought for sure he was gonna get it and then the screen said match over and showed he lost?
  21. Great tournament. Its OK for you to say it lol. You said it for the other guys lol. Congrats.
  22. Dang. We really have to pay for the whole subscription just to watch the finals?
  23. I know I saw somewhere that they were streaming the finals. Can someone either post the link or guide me in the right direction? I think this is gonna be one you won't wanna miss.
  24. Where can we find the live steam of the finals at? Thanks alot.
  25. Yep. I agree. It will be fun to see.
