  1. I've heard he will be down at 120 when its all said and done. Not sure why he didn't wrestle this past weekend though?
  2. I don't know all the names but here are results.... Match started at 132. 132 MV won by Dec 138 Bethel MV by fall over Wargel 145 MV won by dec. 152 Williams EM won by FF 160 EM won by major 170 EM won by FF 182 Huelsing EM won by fall 195 EM won by dec 2-1 220 Choate MV won by FF 285 EM won by dec 2-1 106 Gorman MV won by fall over Rice 113 Konrath MV won by fall over Horty 120 Schaefer EM won by major 126 Keller MV won by dec Like I said, glad I made the trip to Mt.Vernon last night, great back and forth dual with an exciting ending. I also just realized both these teams are at Team State this year, could be another great match if that happens.
  3. As a big fan of wrestling, that was one of the most intense and exciting matches I've ever witnessed. Mt.Vernon pulls off a 33-32 win with a close decision in the final match at 126. Two very good teams with lots of good individuals who all could make a deep run in the state tournament!
  4. Evansville Memorial (#3) vs. Mt.Vernon (Posey) (#9) tonight at Mt.Vernon.
  5. According to trackwrestling it looks like Reitz won it, but Mt.Vernon finished in a close 2nd and only brought 9 kids and had 6 champions! Pretty solid performance by Mt.Vernon. Kind of surprising to see Jasper so low in the team race. It's starting to look like they are falling off the radar a little bit.
  6. I don't even see Ferguson in the brackets???
  7. Could we see a Konrath vs Ferguson match up again???
  8. I really don't think Bethel "stalls", yes he may wrestle conservative late in the match to hold a lead, but if anyone who knows wrestling and has watched him wrestle, knows he doesn't go out there to use his "stalling techniques" Does anyone know why he injury defaulted? I noticed he didn't wrestle anymore matches over the weekend as well. Hope he is okay, great wrestler, would hate to see him out.
  9. I really don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over rankings. IT DOES NOT MATTER!!! Is that ranking going to guarantee them that finish....nope! JCHAS, like you said, he likes being underestimated, so instead of questioning the ranking, let him use it as motivation to work harder in the room to prove the guys ranking him wrong.
  10. Mt.Vernon(Posey) hosts the Turkey Classic Friday and Saturday. Sounds like some good competition with Yorktown and New Albany added to this year's field. Yorktown should run away with the team title, but Mt.Vernon could provide some good matches in that dual meet, as they qualified for the 2A Team State Duals.
  11. Very interesting. In the Class rankings they have South Bend St. Joe ranked 27th in 2A, and 28th in these rankings.
  12. It's pretty simple to me, 2 kids at a weight, winner gets the spot. Sometimes if you have 2 equal wrestlers who have a close wrestle off, I would make it 2 out of 3 to get the spot. But, in some cases I've told kids that you may win the wrestle off, but if your attendance at practice, work ethic, attitude, etc aren't very good then the spot can be taken from you by a coaches decision.
  13. Yorktown? New Pal? New Albany? Wow, sounds like Mt.Vernon will be the place to be Thanksgiving weekend. Should be some good potential state level match-ups... Why did Central drop out? They've been in it for years and some of there guys would've added to the good possibility matchups... What are some we could see??? Konrath-White? McCormick-Bethel-Timberman? Castleberry-Stephenson? Lynch-Brickens? Looks like I may head on down to MV that weekend.
  14. Lahue would be above Johnson, and Johnson would be behind Schermer.
  15. Most of the weights are off of the state rankings that came out in the pre-season magazine. They had Willis at 106, Joe Lee at 132, If I didn't see there name then I just made a guess, some I kept at the same weight and some I just moved up a weight, its obviously way too early to know where everyone is going to end up...I think whatever weight the younger Lee goes he is the favorite as long as Hudkins stays at 120.
  16. Yeah definitely, I could see Ferguson or Egli dropping to 113 if they are able to.
  17. Any idea who all is there? I've heard a few teams dropped out, and was wondering who all was added???
  18. Yeah that was my fault, he is still at Ben Davis to my knowledge. Sorry about that. If that was the only mistake I made then I'm happy. haha.
  19. I know its early, but the board has been a little dead to start the opening couple weeks of the season, so thought I'd try and stir up some discussion...my rankings on the Evansville Semi-State, mostly based off last years weights, and/or hear say or what I may think.... 106 Kaufer-Corydon Central Luigs-Mater Dei Willis-Evansville Central Poe-Decatur Central Dilbeck-Gibson Southern Mills-Brownsburg Miranda-Avon Rooks-Columbus East 113 Konrath-Mt.Vernon Skaggs-Avon Franklin-New Washington Cunningham-Floyd Central Reese-Franklin Matherly-Evansville North Lewis-Terre Haute South Cook-Northview 120 Hudkins-Danville Ferguson-Evansville Reitz Egli-Mater Dei Wilkerson-Franklin Pritchett-Ben Davis Walsh-Brown County McCoy-Northview Allen-Brownsburg 126 Schermer-Bloomington South Johnson-Mater Dei Molloy-Danville Young-Madison Boles-Mooresville Willis-Evansville Central Hayes-Charlestown Baehl-Gibson Southern 132 Lee-Mater Dei Lee-Brownsburg Anderson-Mooresville Harris-Avon Ramsey-Castle Bethel-Mt.Vernon Dempler-Madison Williams-Center Grove 138 Lee-Mater Dei Todrank-Gibson Southern Dull-Terre Haute North Weddle-Ben Davis Smith-Danville Tingle-Madison Paden-Corydon Central Ellis-Monrovia 145 Lahue-Corydon Central Herrin-Jennings County Jourdan-Mater Dei Schnell-Castle Castleberry-New Albany Williams-Evansville Memorial Mundy-Southridge 152 Damler-Brownsburg Lynch-New Albany Barlow-Bloomington South Smith-Evansville Central Kopp-Corydon Central Miller-Heritage Hills Abshier-Evansville Memorial Hendrich-Northview 160 Koontz-Edgewood Kemper-Evansville Central Forzley-Mater Dei Helm-Avon VanHorn-Franklin Barnett-Main-Bedford North Lawrence Caudle-Danville Dalton-Bloomington North 170 Lydy-Ben Davis Bassmier-Mater Dei McDaniel-Tecumseh Higdon-Charlestown Lockyear-Castle Young-Madison Harter-Southridge Kreilein-Jasper 182 Stevenson-Franklin Elmore-Avon Walton-Brownsburg Shaffer-South Putnam Hayes-Providence Dowell-Castle Huelsing-Evansville Memorial 195 Scott-Mooresville Orth-Mater Dei Redmond-Jennings County Greiwe-Columbus East Lee-Monrovia Cain-Greensburg Brown-Mitchell 220 Schoolcraft-Martinsville Larson-Avon Wilder-Ben Davis Kyles-Evansville Harrison Dobos-Bloomington South Klem-Gibson Southern Choate-Mt.Vernon Hurley-Charlestown 285 Oglesby-Ben Davis York-Franklin Biddle-Plainfield Sutton-Jennings County Mount-Scottsburg Hayes-Greensburg Miles-Paoli Dossett-Tecumseh
  20. I've been looking, but can't find it? Does anybody know what the official date is for teams to start practice?
  21. And from looking at the bracket at 113, Konrath dominated everybody they put in front of him. TF 21-4, TF 25-10, TF 24-9, TF 22-7, Major 16-2 in the Finals!!! I'm sure that clinic was fun to watch!
  22. Austin Bethel (126) at the Evansville Semi-State, freshman came in with only 2 losses on the year, but everybody was picking Boles to beat him first round then pretty much having Schitter from Jasper as a lock to get 2nd...Bethel pulled out a close win over Boles 8-6, then dominated Schitter in the ticket round. Will be a tough kid IMO for the next 3 years.
  23. I don't know what the rest of the state is suppose to get, but I know down here in the south (Evansville Semi-State) we have some potential for snow/wintry mix coming through today. Hoping this doesn't amount to much and doesn't affect the Semi-State for tomorrow. What would be some possible alternatives to getting the Semi-State in? Hoping all teams are able to travel as well, would hate to see a kids season end that way.
  24. I don't see Lee at 126 being the only "lock"... 106 its between Konrath and Egli 113 Ferguson is a lock 120 Johnson is the favorite but Brown could pull this one out as well 126 Lee is a lock 132 Todrank, Jourdan, or Davis could win it 138 Schnell, Seng, Petrig could win it 145 Pierre and Karges will be a good one 152 Kelley is a lock 160 Kemper and Forzley once again 170 Rickenbaugh is a lock 182 Konerding and Bassemier could be a good one 195-285 I think anybody could win it that are the top seeds.
  25. That would be great for Southern Indiana wrestling if all 3 teams would qualify, plus Mater Dei in 3A, and possibly Tecumseh in 1A if they can have a good Regional this weekend! Good Luck to all Southern Indiana teams this weekend!!
