Didn't Grammer beat John Smith? I was thinking that was true.

blorek reacted to Y2CJ41 in NFHS Rule Changes(New weight classes)
Last year there were grumblings that the NFHS was going to go to 13 weights. The IHSWCA sent out a survey and it overwelmingly supported 14 weights. On top of that the IHSAA aka Robert Faulkens fully supports 14 weights. I would think we will keep it at 14 when the time comes.
On the second note, yes I agree completely. That is my fear of dropping a weight class as it will be increasingly more difficult to add it back.

blorek reacted to TheCountyKid in Great sportsmanship at the state finals
Just came across this picture of Montgomery from Brownsburg talking to Heath from Leo after their match. I know a lot of these guys who wrestle each other are practicing together all the time and it’s amazing to see how much they respect each other. Does anyone else have any pictures or examples of instances like this?

blorek got a reaction from Eagle2 in Qualifying weigh ins for state tourney?
I'm confident the IHSAA will work with teams in the best interest of the kids. Difficult task, because there are so many different communities and policies regionally. I would expect a little flexibility this season.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

blorek got a reaction from CoachJoyce in MatBoss App
I too used MatBoss for the first time last year. Myself and my coaching staff liked the data sheets we could present to our wrestlers, and that our guys have access to all their matches from their device. The official can type in his I.D. number instead of signing in. I also use a score book still, in case WIFI or Ipad goes down.

blorek reacted to Ed Pendoski in Indiana's 'middle class' in wrestling
But isn't that the argument of why we shouldn't send JV to varsity tourney?
If the 1a, 2a, 3a schools don't have a full lineup, I'm sure losing to MD's JV isn't something attractive to the athletic football kid who is on the fence about wrestling or not.
The only team that benefits from sending JV to varsity would be the programs in the top 10% and it comes at the cost of the middle/lower class of our state's programs.
.....and please don't mention the name Nosko. That guy crushed us in matches that mattered at team state two years in a row! ha!
