Justin Ratliff got a reaction from EFuqua in Trophy Chasing
Thanks to the ISWA, Franklin Community, coaches, officials, volunteers for making an event like this happen. We had a great time interacting with the different teams. I believe that some of our youth and parents are now hooked on wrestling after this weekend. There is no other sports community like wrestling. Glad to be a part of it!
Eric,
We left our Seymour banner in the bleachers by mat 1 where we were sitting most of the day. If someone finds it would you call me? (812) 525-7304

Most importantly I just received a message from Ron Dull of South Adams to advise that his wrestler (Maverick Summersett) who injured his arm in the match against Franklin Community yesterday at Team State underwent surgery last night and the doctors were able to properly set and align the arm and he was released to head home.
In all of these post and accusations against teams by people maybe we just need to keep in mind that these are kids and it's kids sports in the end of the day.
Congrats to all the teams that came to Team State yesterday and braved the weather to get there and to all the families that came and supported their wrestlers and teams.

Really glad to hear Maverick is on his way to recovery. Thanks to the ISWA, teams, coaches, officials and parents for this fun event. Our team had nothing but a positive experience with the teams we competed against. (Seymour, Avon, Warren, Madison, South Adams and Mishawaka) Franklin Wrestling always enjoys having the wrestling community visit our schools and would like to invite everyone to return April 29-May1st for our Grizzly IronMan Tournament. Thanks again for a great day of wrestling!

Justin Ratliff reacted to Tim Konrath in Paul Konrath
First of all, we want to thank Indiana Mat, Mount Vernon High School, and the Ihsaa for all the great opportunities they have provided for Paul and all of the Great experiences we have enjoyed together. Our hearts will always be with Mount Vernon Wrestling and wish everyone there well. Due to several opportunities and situations in Paul's life we have decided to move him to Indiana Connections Academy, which means he will no longer be wrestling in a High School program. This was a very hard decision for him to make but we are convinced it was the correct one. He hopes to continue to represent Mount Vernon and Indiana @ a national level. That being said, any opportunities that may present themselves to be a part of an Indiana team would be much appreciated. Paul's contact info is paulkonrath98@gmail.com Or I can be contacted at timkonrath@gmail.com
Thanks Again! Tim Konrath

Justin Ratliff got a reaction from teammills in No love for the north
What if attending X number of FS/Greco RTC's and participating in 1 tournament could qualify a wrestler for state?
-
Justin Ratliff got a reaction from WaltHarris in No love for the north
Obviously the current way of doing things is not growing Freestyle/Greco. I'm sure that the ISWA is trying to build these styles as USAW is the governing body of Olympic wrestling. If you watch the worlds you know that we are not where we should be. We produce athletes but we are not at the same level as the Russians, Iranians, etc. in order to be the best something has to change. It needs to start at the grass roots level. I'm with Skinner. If this doesn't change numbers then I'm open to something else. Maybe more Freestyle/ Greco big names coming to RTCs? Something has to change at the coaches level too. Meaning, I think many coaches could care less about FS/Greco but if you can get a state title, cool! I feel like that is the attitude of many.

Why do people not want to wrestle much FS/Greco? Or why do they want to only wrestle at FS/Greco state? Are their other big FS/Greco tournaments you are seeking out nationally? Sounds like people only want to wrestle Folksyle but want some FS/Greco cake too.

Justin Ratliff reacted to StevieWonder in Seymour Slam Folkstyle Open added information
Very well run tournament. Thanks to the Director & all of his behind the scene assistants. Weigh-ins went smooth, full mats were great for the kids & consistent officiating by a good group of young men. First time participating in this particular event & I was very impressed with how well things were run at this wonderful facility.
