Think GAT meant the team rankings are a joke since Portage might be a "tad" underrated!!! Don't like speaking for others, but he might not be compelled to explain and only 6 posts into your IndyMat career, you (LN89IU94) might not get the humor and obviously didn't. I'm not overly familiar with this system, so I'm sure there's a simple explanation. Are there only 8 voters? There's only 8 total 1st place votes in parentheses so I deduce that if there were, say, 100 voters there would be 100 total 1st place votes? -
Concur, but how tough is it to prove that Little Johnny misses his middle school buddies? There's no quantifiable test to show that. Just didn't make a lot of sense that they call it a mulligan but then you have to prove it isn't for athletic reasons but in reality all you have to do is say the kid misses his friends. If they're trying to make it easier, just do so and say you get one freshman year freebie and that's it.

WC was #22 in the "new" USAToday NHSCA rankings as well. Does the USAToday coming out with a poll show an increase in wrestling interest or just another way to try to get more papers sold to a common interest group? People getting touchy!! Must be close to getting the season started.....I like it. ..and EMD was not listed in said rankings..that should fire 'em up!

Was thinking that the over/under on Penn wins would be 3 and appears to be about right. Of interest will be whether there is some creative weight class manipulations to take advantage of the on paper strengths and weaknesses. Not knowing OPRF's schedule, they might treat this like more of an exhibition or to use a soccer term, "friendly", on their way to a national weekend tourney....just not sure. Of course, you don't get #1 in the nation by not going hard all the time and the backups are just as tough, as witnessed by the 2 Fargo finalists in same weight class!
