Remember your girls must have 4 weigh-ins 1 at scratch weight. Top 4 girls will qualify from each regional for the state championships at Kokomo Memorial Coliseum. This will be the best venue yet for girls state. The coaching staff at kokomo High School has worked very hard to give the girls a great experience.
Only Indiana and IHSAA member schools can enter this tourney. This is our 4th year running girls state and it is growing every year. You must have your high school coach register you and coach you at this tourney, The High School Head Coach or one of the Asst. may coach the girls from their teams. No coaches outside the school can coach in this tourney this rule is strictly followed for the safety of the female athletes.Good Luck Coaches and Athletes. Remember if your boys team wrestle in the New Castle or Evansville Semi-State you are in the south Girls Regionals Edgewood. If your boys team wrestle in the Ft Wayne or East Chicago Semi-State then you would register your girls in the Macanoquah Regionals If you have any questions please call Gary Myers IHSGW Director 317-514-0102

  2. I have seen a lot of scores before they put in the 15 point rule. I saw one match when I wrestled for Muncie Southside 1981 where David Palmer beat our wrestler Persinger 48-11. When the match was over our guy was celebrating that he didn't get pinned and David grabbed his arm after the match was over an pointed up to the corner of the Gym where the scoreboard was mounted as to show him how bad it was.lol

  4. Well, let me be clearer. I said thrown on his head but for the sake of having to explain every detail I just left it at that, I was standing mat side as my wrestler was next to wrestle on that mat. It looked to be exact like he hit between his head an shoulder so it was very quick and so saying he was thrown on his head was my way of me getting through it,. So he hit between his shoulder and head which split the shoulder and head apart. I hope that's better.

  5. He was thrown on his head and he was laying flat down on his belly until they rolled him over. Two things that I want to mentioned as this was going on. Can you imagine trying to run a wrestling practice when most of us coaches are very verbal and loud in the wrestling room. My hats of to that school and the wrestlers. Job well done and you have my respect. But what my wife tells me about what some of the parents were doing in the stands has me pissed off tonight. A couple of the parents were taking pictures of the wrestler being carted off the mat in a stretcher and laughing about it. Now I don't know which school they are with but that is pretty bad. I am being kind at this moment. Coach Myers

  6. Legendary announcer Kevin Whitehead will be announcing the IHSGW Womens State Championships Jan/11th/2019 at Hamilton Heights. As you know Kevin has been announcing the boys state finals since 1982. What a great night it will be for the fans and Womens Wrestling. Gary Myers

So, the girls register themselves on trackwrestling like an ISWA meet?  Also, I assume you just register for the one you are closest to (ie Greenfield would go to Franklin)?

    Thanks

No have their coach go to ihsgw.net and register them. If their high school boys wrestle in the New Castle or Evansville Semi State then they wrestle in the south at Franklin Community High School. If their boys wrestler in the Ft Wayne or the East Chicago Semi State then they wrestle at Maconaquah High School in the north.
