Growing up in the nineties turned my hatred for emd into a like for Belmont. So it's not a hate of Belmont. If I was a Belmont fan only I would say it was a good call. If was a fan of the sport who was standing 50 feet from the mat I would say it was a terrible call. The first one yes he deserved the warning. But 8 seconds later you call another one as time expires? In my twenty years of watching the sport I have not seen two calls that close together. It's even worse seeing it again. I am not huge on this stuff but in an earlier match that ref tried hard to bring a Belmont kid back into it. Not A Belmont thing just a bad ref dictating the outcome

Wasnt there so this is heresay, but I heard that Cathedral looked tough on Saturday. Could have 2 or 3 champs just from that school. Never know could have 4 from PH Regional!

I was shocked to see two different classes with two state champs in it. Would like to see Micic vs Wilson and Lecount vs Forte. I know the weights can change but cool to think how exciting that would be to watch.

Sammy Mireles of Elwood needs around 500 yards to break the state rushing record held by Otis Shannon. He should go over the 7,000 yard mark this week.

Tough question but as far as just in high school folkstyle wrestling...its got to be Lance Ellis. He pinned 85% of his opponents. Angel is the only wrestler with more falls by 5 and he wrestled 50 more matches then Lance did. Which means Lance would of had 180+ pins in his career. And yes I know Alex didnt have the college resume that most thought he would but I cant believe no one has mentioned his name. 236 wins in a row?
