The semi finals are crazy. Cheaney v Seltzer Koontz v Watson Critchfield v Carroll Whiteneck v Jones These are just off the top of my head.

Bethel over B Lee was big. There have been some others over the years I know Bethel was a qualifier the year before but that was huge.

I’ll add this. This young man came and congratulated my kid Dominic while we were speaking about his next match. Logan is a class act and had amazing career. The kid had some struggles as we all do and came back from them stronger! I wish Logan the best in the next chapter of his life. You don’t get to where he got without a lot of hard work, he will do great things.

Agreed the split is dumb we did 4 semi states with 16 kids a bracket no problem yesterday why should Friday night be split up!

Tough to score on each other when you've wrestled each other so many times! How many times have these guys wrestles in the last 2 years id imagine 10x now with a dual, conference, sectionals, regionals, and semi state. The defense these guys display is pretty crazy both guys are incredibly hard to score on in all positions. Will one of them find the recipe to knock off Seltzer??? I am so excited to see all of the fun matches that will go down this weekend!

Thank you! Cascade gets a kid to state for the first time since 2014. The Evansville semi state is nastier than usual this year some straight CRAZY draws some "curtain jerkers" for sure! So glad we are back at the Ford Center although Jasper was a great host last year I am very excited to be back at this awesome venue! Excited to see some Cadets get to compete and hopefully punch their tickets would be the first time since 2014 Cascade has sent someone to state! Center Grove is TOUGH and then add another top 20 team in the country at Regionals with Brownsburg. Once again Mooresville takes the cake as the absolute toughest regional by far!

Well for the first time in 20 years I will not be at the Avon Sectional. However I feel like the Mooresville Sectional is every bit as tough as Avon this year. I want to thank everyone who made this event possible. This was an amazing opportunity for our team and our community. I can imagine a lot of 1A fans were wondering where all those light blue shirts were from. Martinsville was a great host. I am so glad that the IHSCWA believes in the dual format of this sport and recognizes a champ. After our day ended at Martinsville I got the boys back to the school and realized they were holding the Brownsburg v CP dual. So the wrestler in me drove straight from Cascade to Brownsburg and I was able to catch the final 10 matches of one of the most competitive duals in Indiana history probably. It was an amazing weekend for Indiana Wrestling! Thank you to everyone who made these events happen! Hopefully the Cascade Cadets will be back next year!

Sucks there aren't full wrestle backs but oh well you have to beat everyone to be the champs!

Think you'll be surprised by the teams outside of the top 4 is this is your opinion. Cascade had a closer dual with Mt. Vernon Posey than North Posey did and beat BD by more. We had a similar result against Mt. Vernon Posey as Tell City believe we lost by 11 and they lost by 7. I think Southmont is a big sleeper team but getting Adams Central from the start is tough! I believe us, Rochester, Cowan, and Adams Central all a shot to knock off the top teams. This is a dual format matchups will be HUGE. At the end of the day whichever team can get bonus and doesn't give it up will walk away with the title. I expect some extremely tight duals from the first round!

Where is the 1A talk? I think 1A and 2A at Martinsville are going to be super competitive! I do think the gap from the good 2A teams to the bottom 4 is a little greater than it is at 1A. Those first 4 1A duals should be fun to watch!

Good to know as I will be heading into my first sectional seeding meeting this season. That will definitely hurt kids but oh well, with our state tournament you have to beat everyone to win it all!

In my opinion they count if received in a dual meet if you're getting a BYE in an individual tournament that does not count towards your record. However a FF scores 6 points for the team in a dual meet and if you get a FF in an individual tournament it is 2 bonus points for your team. I think if you're earning your team points the win counts. Especially in duals where teams have a kid at the weight and decide not to wrestle them!

Saving the best for last!

We do not wrestle in any individual tournaments so every weekend we get 5 matches and then our holiday tournament got us 9 matches over 2 days. Our team is at 28 matches and will be at about 35-38 by sectionals! Just depends how you use your weigh ins. I will say having all these matches will be good for us down the road!
