  1. Move the entire finals to Prairie Heights HS: 1. Limited Seating, as we will be utilizing 4 gyms on campus and possibly a 5th that would be off campus. We could used up to 6 mats. 2. Unlimited parking on our 230 acre campus/school farm, possible shuttle with tractor or horse-drawn buggy 3. Concessions-fresh farm raised beef provided by our FFA along with fresh well water. 4. Accommodations- overnight stays by tent, RV, and/or Hotel De Caprino 5. Restrooms-indoor plumbing at PH along with port-a-johns at the baseball and softball diamonds within walking distance of the main gym. Win-win situation for all
  2. We recently (within the last 3 seasons) have purchased 2 Resilite Liteweight mats with the zip-lock connection system for competition mats at the ms and hs level. Expect to spend $10-12K depending on logo, lettering, etc. If you want the contact person we used, message me and I will get you his info. Brett Smith Prairie Heights High School
  3. Option X: ALL wrestlers in the state meet at 1 location. Randomly draw wrestlers to the mat, just like WWE Royal Rumble.... last wrestler standing is the single class-one weight State Champion.... no holds barred!
  4. FW INDIANA.........or Brushy Prairie
  5. Unless the nba all star game features Jordan, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Dominique, Barkley, i don't want to see it.......cancel the game.
  6. Bet the indy star puts out a super team for basketball
  7. @Y2CJ41, maybe The Plex South in February is much cooler than in September?
  8. I am not sure what we did it at the HS level this year, but we did not have a single skin issue or skin form during the entire HS season. We dry mopped and bleached/watered every day and used. Also used KenClean Plus Disinfectant 1-2x per week, along with Defense Body wipes and Kennedy Body wipes. I have some interest in the Sterilaser, along with what we already do.
  9. Another good one when talking about Zeke Seltzer, can't remember if it was at the end of his interview, but they said Mizzou was in the SEC
  10. I still like on the bracket show.....Jessie Mendez, not like his is arguably the best ever from Indiana
  11. Very true. Typically, success breeds more success. Just comparing BB and BD a little since it was brought up and their comparable access to clubs, rtc's, clinics, etc. Look at what Brownsburg has done since 2014: 147 dual wins and all types of team accolades, 50+ qualifiers, 40+ medalists, 6 state champs (probably off a little somewhere) Ben Davis since 2014: 60ish dual wins, 8 qualifiers, 5 placers,1 champ (probably off a little too) The BD kids have similar opportunities due to their proximity to Brownsburg, Indy, and so on.Just because the opportunities are more accessible to certain schools of similar size in certain areas of the state, some schools just aren't going to have that same type of success. Different schools = different kids, as well as different coaches, parents, admin, etc., with different interests and goals too. Some kids/parents may choose to pick up and move schools to pursue those opportunities at other places because they have the means in which to do so. Other kids/parents may choose not to, maybe they don't have the means to do so either. I am not sure if there is a one size fits all approach to balance or fix things. Mat time, lots of exposure to multiple coaches and practices partners, camps, clinics, off-season events, setting goals and working towards them, seeking out tough competition, making sacrifices.....there is so much to do in order to reach that pinnacle.
  12. To be transparent, beat them in the state pick'ems
  13. I am just glad I beat @poppem215 and @Y2CJ41
  14. Any update? Interested to hear what you heard today
  15. Can anyone confirm that kids qualified for the tourney just need show up and pay the to compete?
  16. We sat in section 14, beside the CP group. They were loud, but holy cow...EMD group was on another level. It sounded like they had 3x as many fans.
  17. Now that the IHSAA State Finals are over, there were some highlights and lowlights. Obviously the negative stuff such as the #ticketgate, 2 Friday sessions, the elevator situation at the Hyatt Place, over priced concessions at the 'Bridge, etc., etc., etc. But on a better note, I am glad that: I was able to attend both sessions (couldn't by tix last year for Saturday and watched on my laptop from across the street ). Seating wasn't restricted as it was last year. There was a podium. Kids had time to gather themselves, win or lose on Saturday, without being forced to take a picture with there medals. The sportsmanship of the competitors. Lots of great matches. Some upsets. Some OT matches. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Whether it was Friday or Saturday, not once did I see poor sportsmanship amongst the kids. Very well done kids!
  18. Meanwhile, I had to climb 10 sets of stairs both ways 2x's because it ended up shutting all the elevator down......I'm gonna send my bill for the hotbox pizza that took way too long and a bill for pain and suffering after climbing the stairs.....that was quite a workout!
  19. I read that to and I interpret as top 12 advance?
  20. What placement at the Qualifiers is needed to advance to the finals? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.
