  1. Little Ellis couldn't place at Middle School State as an 8th grader. So he's gonna place at High School State as a freshman?
  2. MD advances 14 every year regardless of who is in their sectional. This won't change a thing.
  3. Can we see the individual results please?
  4. Amen! But, Mortons is closer and just as good!
  5. Congrats to Mater Dei's Junior Wildcats. Below are the team scores from Middle School State. 1. Mater Dei 8766 135.0 2. Doe Creek Middle School 8817 113.0 3. Center Grove MS Central 5093 108.0 4. Perry Meridian Wrestling Club 5109 98.0 5. Franklin central flashes 8863 65.0 6. jennings county middle school 8781 65.0 7. FRANKLIN COMMUNITY MS 8764 63.0 8. Carmel USA Wrestling 3712 55.0 9. Yorktown MS 8795 42.0
  6. He might have a legitimate shot at a high school state title next year, but he has NO shot at a Middle School State Title this year. Nick Lee, 7th grader, wins easily.
  7. Mater Dei's Middle School team beat Belmont Saturday 71-37. I'm sorry to say MD could not fill every weight class. Only 1 kid over 150lbs. So, 24 of Belmont's points came from forfeits. Everyone of MD's kids has wrestled in MD's feeder program and attended Evansville westside catholic schools for 6-8+ years. This is not to disparrage Belmont. They are a great program with great tradition. My point is that ALL of our wrestlers are home grown, multiple generation, westside catholic kids. My son is in his 10th season in the feeder program. He's 13, started when he was 4. Proud to be a Wildcat. MD class of 81.
  8. Agree! How many kids can quit wrestling for 3 full seasons and come back undefeated and ranked fourth in the state? I'd say no one. He hadn't wrestled since he was an eigth grader. Amazing!!
  9. The EMD kid in question weighed 118 when he wrestled, and beat, Reitz's stud at 127. EMD wrestlers frequently wrestle up a weightclass or two to get better competition. How petty you are to question a kid's weight because he is a far superior wrestler than your child.
  10. What weight, grade, school is Blake? 125lb. 8th grader from Mater Dei
  11. Blake Jordan looked impressive pinning and tech falling his way thru a tough reitz field. Agree! Jordan is a Beast!!
  12. My schoolboy wrestled a kid in the 90 lb division one weekend in a tournament with the honor system. The next weekend, that same kid weighed in at 111 for another tournament. He was obviously bigger than all of the other kids in his weight class that first weekend, but nobody complained because he wasn't very good.
  13. The 2 forfeits didn't change the final score. Maurer was going to bump to 220 and would have gotten a fall. Reitz knew that was coming, that's why they sat Schnarr. Wright would have gotten a fall at 285 also.
  14. EMD beat Avon 56-25 at Perry Meridian.

    SIAC

At 285 EMD Wright pinned Central last week.
  16. The only sure thing: Nick Lee, 7th grade, 110 lbs.: Mater Dei
  17. Pierre is at 126 now. no wat he gets to 120. he's 6'0" tall.
  18. You can rank Reitz as high as you want, NO WAY they beat EMD! There top 3-4 guys are better, but it takes 14. EMD, as usual, will have no weaknesses.

    Super 32

Watch Nick Lee, a seventh grader from Mater Dei's feeder program. He'll make some noise at 106 against the high school kids!
  20. Nick Lee is just rediculous! He's a seventh grader who just turned 13 years old and he dominates kids much older than he is. And what's even more amazing is that he is a better person than wrestler. Congrats Nick!!!
  21. Don't forget Will Egli. He's a 7th grader and returning Middle School State Champ!!
  22. We drove 5+ hours to Hyway state last year in Huntington. It was very well run and my son really enjoyed it. I hope Hyway continues to expand and grow in the southern part of Indiana. Having more options benefits the kids. I see no downside to having multiple organizations to choose from. My son enjoys both.
  23. What High School would the 7th or 8th grader wrestle for? He could pick and choose from several high schools in a lot of urban areas. You think recruiting is a problem now, imagine what would happen to an 8th grade Stud that had numerous high schools in which he could wrerstle for. The idea is rediculous and wouldn't work.
  24. My son was Hyway State Champ (11-12 yr. old/90 lb.). If you need any help, let me know. He would love to wrestle with your team. (tmontatty@gmail.com)
