  1. I agree he did a good thing putting the spreadsheet together and I appreciate the time it took. But I think being "pissed off" at such a minor criticism is pretty thin-skinned. I doubt that there was any offense intended. I for one was a bit amused and chuckled to myself about the comment about the "9-Dec" record, not because I wanted to make fun of anybody or be a douchebag, but because I myself have had the same frustrating number formatting issue in many spreadsheets I've created in the past. So I was really laughing at myself and with the guy that created the spreadsheet rather than at the guy. A sense of humor is a valuable asset. Life is way too short to get pissed off at such trivial issues.
  2. I think you are the only one making fun of them with your comments.
  3. I think perhaps Avon is probably where his son wrestles but not necessarily where he wrestlED? Some of us still maintain some amount of endearment towards our alma maters even when our sons wrestle elsewhere.
  4. Ha ha. I think Y21AB was just trying to stir the pot a bit by intentionally making facetious comments that even he knew were silly.
  5. I agree that volunteering should not vaccinate you from criticism. At the same time, I also don't think it should necessarily be grounds for attacks on one's ethics and scruples just because of differences in opinions. I think one should be able to debate issues without needing to demean someone and attack another's integrity just because of honest disagreements. One can surely even point out perceived mistakes on another person's part without villifying them and attacking their character. Being the biggest sarcastic demeaning bully on the forum doesn't necessarilly make one correct on all issues. (To make sure there is no misunderstanding, I am not suggesting that Fabio, Jr. behaves in such a manner.)
  6. Powerline, Doesn't sound like a bad idea. What kind of award might you have in mind?
  7. Could you give me your predicted order of team finish?
  8. As an aside, way back when I was in school, we called them "rat tail" matches instead of "pig tails". Pig tails are curled. Rat tails are straight. (Yeah, I'm old.)
  9. I agree that sounds like a nearly ideal way. Two issues that I see right away. One may be minor, but the second might be insurmountable. (1) Pigtail kids would be making weight two days in a row. (Maybe Thursday and Saturday?) (2) If using on Friday & Saturday, you'd be tying up the "basketball courts" both weekend days. ?
  10. I was about to write a similar comment. Make pigtails be between non-seeded wrestlers. And then it would be good for the pigtails (of unseeded wrestlers) to feed into the lower seeded wrestlers. And then if you did this, you could just not count points in the pigtail matches to eliminate higher seeds complaining about not having equal opportunity for pigtail bonus points.
  11. Okay, thank you for the reply. I guess at my age, 4 years or 8 to 10 years all seems the same. Ha ha
  12. I seem to recall that 3 or 4 years ago or so that a prominent wrestler (freshman?) was unable to participate in sectionals because of an appendectomy. But I can't remember who it was. Could someone please refresh my memory?
  13. Twenty pound cut in one week would be dangerous and definitely ill advised for anyone ... unless maybe if you have a liposuction operation.
  14. I would guess each of the Milius twins were both close to the record. They took down and cut at a furious pace. Coach McCormick could probably say for sure which one ended up with the most.
  15. Repeating the final team score a second time does not constitute "details". C'mon, if a match is shown in the Dual Results section without the "Details missing" label, I think I should get to see something if I open it. Otherwise, it's like finding a package under the Xmas tree wrapped up in colorful paper, pretty ribbons, and a bow ... only to find an empty box when it's open. I feel deflated.
  16. At least on my computer, the displayed format of the individual rankings changed dramatically from what I saw yesterday. Was that by intent?
  17. Any word then on whether he will be wrestling any more this year whether at Shenandoah or New Castle or other?
  18. Perserverence, I don't think anyone on here was intending to offend you. I think they were only trying to give you the feedback that you ask for. You wanted opinions from others' perspectives and they generously provided it. That doesn't mean you have to agree with it all or follow any of it. But at least you now have more input than you had before. And for that I think you should be grateful. But more than that, be grateful that you have such a fine son who is multi-talented enough to have choices that DO have to be made.
  19. OTR asked for comments and suggestions. I think all the comments were trying to provide helpful information and not to express unhappiness, ... but I get your point. I'd probably be too thin skinned (and too uninformed) to put my rankings out there.
  20. I heard the same rumor. But my sources were definitely not inside sources, so take it with a grain of salt.
  21. IU being unranked among undergraduate engineering schools is because they don't have an engineering program. So if Mason is considering going to IU, he must also be considering other majors as well.
