    I'm sure Sebahar would love a fifth year of wrestling, unfortunately they don't let that happen in HS.

    The top 2 teams in the DAC are Portage and Merrillville IMO. That will be a dual worth attending. I think Chesterton and CP will be in that second tier, with LC and Valpo slightly behind them. I have Laporte and City rounding out the bottom. Hobart will be a team worth keeping an eye on as well.

    Words I hate saying to my wife, "I was wrong". Off my game, it's off season and things are foggy, I'll get better.

    The only thing Indiana has done consistently lately is not produce all-Americans. They last had one in 2011, and should the goal be to coach on Saturday or Sunday of the NCAAs? With the number of automatic qualifiers from the Big 10, I don't feel that it's all that impressive to be coaching on Saturday. I don't think IU is in any better shape than Purdue, neither is getting the job done.

    That looks like a man wrestling a boy. It is a year later and the opponents Stevan has wrestled have obviously made him look better, so I'm sure my point of view is skewed at bit, but I'd have to say he'd wrestler that match better today than he did that day. I'd like to see him redshirt from a Micic fan's perspective. It was always difficult for me to watch Alex getting beat so often at the next level.

    You are a knowledgeable wrestling fan from your posts, so I'm not trying to insult you here, but you are talking totally different styles of wrestling. It was pointed out that Delgado would be an awful Freestyle wrestler because of his style, so I don't think Micic getting beat in Freestyle necessarily translates to folkstyle. I will say that while I don't have any meat to support my opinion, I don't think Micic beats Delgado in folkstyle at this point in time.

    I have no dog in this fight at all and am having a slow day at work, but to be fair to the guy you are debating, you fired shots first when it came to his experience on the college wrestling scene, or lack there of. So to answer your question, yes, I think he did get a zinger on you. I think you both make interesting points by the way, so carry on.

    I'm totally joking as well, not a good time to be a Chicago baseball fan, I'm not sure you get a winning ball club if you combine the two teams.

    Not a college kid but I am a season ticket holder and the park hasn't been as packed as years past, not as bad as the ghost town known as the Cell, I guess which is the better fan, those that come even when they're bad or those that bail when the going gets rough, a debate for another day and site.

    That would be 2005, it still stings when I'm on the Dan Ryan and see the banner hanging on the Cell. Hey we have Theo, things are looking up (insert sarcasm)!

    To be fair to my Cubbies, they won the Central Division 3 times between 2003-2008, Purdue nor Indiana has come close to winning a Big 10 Championship. I mean I get in the end they didn't win the BIG one, but give them some credit.

    Dude, why don't you have this message in person or through private message? No need to air your dirty laundry. Doesn't look like you spent your tax dollars well in the classroom either, add your former teachers to the list of people you are upset with.

    Came in with 10 losses, but wrestled like he didn't want another. Unbelievable kid who deserved a day like that. Worked his tail off for 4 years and made the most of his opportunity. Went home after day one of the Al Smith and goes on to take home a 3rd place metal at state, talk about not giving up. So proud of him.

    I think we know it's state finals time, lots of passion on the board. Good luck to all the powerhouse teams, homegrown or not.

    Every wrestler's name is announced, with their school and they walk around the mats until all wrestlers have been announced. It's alpha by school. Usually takes 30-45 minutes. It's nice that all kids get recognized.

    Ma'am, respectfully I'd like to point out that your son is an excellent wrestler and someone I've said I think will do well in his high school career. The anger you are projecting is misplaced, if you are looking to point a finger, please look in the direction of two Hobart coaches. Any target placed on your son's back was done so by his coach, who felt the need to "get his name out there" and "talk up his wrestlers". As I've stated in previous posts, your son impressed me at the Harvest Classic, but I then find myself rooting against him because of what adults (and I'm using that loosely) post on a message board. Is that right, no it's not, but I can tell you that I found myself again rooting for him at the semi-state because he has an exciting style, only to have his coaches turn me off again with their foolish statements. I'm sorry you are angry, but perhaps a talk with two other people is necessary. Have a safe trip to Indy and best of luck to your son.

    They covered the Triicoff, The Harvest Classic, the Lake County Tournament, several Illinois tournaments, and the two local conference tournaments. Are you looking for them to cover a dual? The paper does a good job of covering a sport that only a small few are passionate about.

    You have to read past page 1 of the paper, in the past week they've had a nice write-up about Gelen and Tristan Dembowski. Prior to that they had a long write-up about Tolin, and have done a decent job of covering all of the regionals, and the semi-state. Let's just be fair to the paper, wrestling is not a glamorous sport to the masses. Just remembered they had a lengthy write-up about Yanez prior to the regional. I'd say that's pretty good coverage.

    Have you seen Brown wrestle or are you not high on Scott? I thought Scott looked great last weekend, moved really well for a big guy. I've never seen Brown, so perhaps you have more information than me. I think Scott is a top 5 kid without a doubt.
