  1. And while we are on the subject of this area, does anybody have anything constructive to say about how to keep kids away from basketball? Other than the obvious popping every ball within a 25 mile radius and blaming it on trolls. I had four kids miss the Normonco open to play basketball > (please insert any explicitive, any will do). And I promise Cosgrove you won't have to knock on my door anymore at 05:30 or so.
  2. The little kids club at McCutcheon is still going every Tuesday and Thursday and I would be interested in expanding. We get between 7 to 10 kids still so there is room for more. The IHSAA rules need to be followed but other than that I'm not sure what else we would need to do.
  3. Wrestling is so advanced? C'mon. It is still a matter of position as it was thousands of years ago, how a wrestler finishes might change but it is still related to the position. Pretty arrogant to think that you whippersnappers have changed it SO much in twenty years that wasn't accomplished in thousands. I witnessed Lance Ellis at an AAU tournament in Beech Grove after the '87 season wrestle at 154, after wrestling at 112 for his high school season, pick a guy up completely upside down by his ankle and wrist on the same side of his body, hold him out and upside down from his body while he carried him to the center of the mat and chuck him like a feed sack for four points cause the guy landed on his back, try that one. Maybe a handful of guys could ever do that at the sophmore age while in competition. The second most incredible thing I witnessed was a 360 spin on one foot and then shoot off the spin and get the takedown at semi-state no less. I could only look around and hope someone else saw it and it wasn't a hallucination. Remember it like it was yesterday.
  4. How many have won state as a freshman or a sophmore at 189, or I guess before that it would be 185?
  5. Lynde is from Delphi and will be at the Merrillville semi-state.
  6. It was 3-2 Suter. From what I was told a spectator could make the case he almost beat him.
  7. I can't respond in a fashion suitable to the rest of the population.
  8. Same problem, only Fort Wayne available. I've tried everything with the exception of blowing up the nearest transformer and calling the elecric company.
  9. It was called a meat grinder on another thread.
  10. I could be wrong, I made the predictions off the brackets mainly and a dart board. If a kid is gettin the short end of the stick, shouldn't it motivate him? It might work in his favor.
  11. The ISWA Amateur Wrestling News - 2012 states on page 33 Franklin, and also on page 88.
  12. Good luck to all the wrestlers!
  13. Well then devildog...this should be an explosive match, Kult is a man on a mission. He redeemed a loss to the Brownsburg 220 at the HCC, and I'm not sure who the other loss was to, it was early in the season. At any rate he is having a great season after an appendectomy at the begining of the season.
  14. Does anybody really know what happened in the final with Carrithers? I thought he won, I watched the ref and added up the points as it went, but then it was overturned ??? It was a crazy match.
  15. Yeah I know ;D I've watched Winkle for years and he does have offense. Maybe the strength and athleticism of Ricks caused the lack of just as he completely smothered Berumen in the finals at Jeff.
  16. This is why I'm takin Winkle. Who has no offense? Ricks?

  18. Really? Digital Scales? Digital or not, they cost a lot of money and are a precision instrument. Someone should have clothes lined that jackleg jumping on the scales. Why did they unplug it after his class was closed, why not let it calibrate at the time of being contested? A tragedy at any rate, what a memeory to live with the rest of his life. I gotta believe Spencer, truth is stranger than fiction. An appeal in my opinion will take a miracle to win due to the fact that the sectionals are concluded.
  19. "Yeah tell him what a great job he did, thats it, if you can't beat him try and choke him out! Nice coaching!" And in response, "I know."
  20. Is an ISWA card required, and are we able to register at the door?
