  1. N. Boston micic todd petrov Mckinley molloy rd 2 220 lbs finals whoever it is
  2. Thanks a million for the updates, couldbt make it but i enjoyed following your updates at least!
  3. Geeeze wgeres the brackets for state already?!
  4. Ticket round and first round of state are by far two of the best rounds of wrestling. Like someone said its the hype of who gets to be a sq and who goes home is part of the deal. This is coming from a 1 time state qualifier losing two ticket round matches, one to a state champ and one because i choked. If wrestle backs would have existed i could very well have qualified at least 2 maybe 3 times but the fact of the matter is i know what its like to win that ticket round match and know the sebse of gratitude i felt when i finally won it. To take that feeling away from some athletes because we want wrestle backs is not fair. Not to mention the excitement from the spectators!
  5. Congrats to kayla! Hope to see you on the podium at the field house!
  6. . That last point sounds like freestyle to me Id rather see the us wrestle freestyle in high school anyways, might make us more competitive internationally. Not to mention i just like that style better... i like the idea of 3 point take downs though could make comback matches a hell of a lot more interesting!
  7. Anyone have an idea of when finals start? Or admission price?
  8. Just made the trip from portage to crown point, took about double what it normally takes. Roads are getting bad. Hope them plows are out all night, the should know the most important event in da region takes place bright and early!
  9. Love this topic! Good luck men! Tomorrow shall be a fight for your life (in the state series)!
  10. And the best part about ed pendoski is he had no problem opening up the doors at portage high to any kid from competing schools. Not only did he benifit his schools wrestlers but the region as a hole, and now indy.
  11. Im not sure what you mean here jjacoby?
  12. This is a great story. My father never wrestled either but to my knowledge he still follows the sport as much if not more than myself. Our sport is one that is admired by all who understand what it takes to be a wrestler. Bluebold, if you havent already, look for the link on mike powell someone posted on the board earlier today.
  13. I whole heartedly agree with this statement. While attending good ol' region elite practices with coach P at portage high school I can recall attendees in the room consisting of those such as Andrew Howe, Brennan Cosgrove, Frankie Porras, Tommy Chuchard, Sean McMurry, Eric Roach, Anthony Hawkins, Josh Harper... among many others, those names alone account for probably nearly 20 state titles, not to mention the signficant contribution hes been making in indy. High school season is with out a doubt extremely important, but they always say summer wrestling leads to winter champions. Coach P is the summer guy if i might say... with some quality sucess in the winter at portage high
  14. 3x state champ (2nd as a freshman to 3xer reece humphery) 3x all american (2nd, 1st, 3rd (with injury) one more year to go 1st at US open last year 3rd i believe at jr worlds 2nd at the trials
  15. What time can we expect finals competition to take place?
  16. Ill nominate ed pendoski. He may not have won any state titles while coaching at portage high school but he definitely knows how to shape youth wrestlers into champions
  17. 106 micic over davis garza over miracle 113 Brooks over Brodie Shurg over Davidson 120 Petrov over Garcia Denton over Davis 126 Ayersman over Burlison Torres over Ayala 132 Forte over McHugh Spence over Mavros 138 Griffin over Macri Roadruck over Vasquez 145 Tsirtsis over Mavros Thorn over Katsafaros 152 Brown over Katsafaros Sanderfer over Ginter 160 Steveson over Shurg Redweik over Espinoza 170 Crocker over Dale Peppers over Hunter 182 Lynde over Fimbianti Hurford over Kral 195 Berry over Ricks Langbehn over Allen 220 Robinson over Gallegos Kral over Nickson hwt Hall over Maggart Durrant over Swoop
  18. Not 100% on this one but pree tee sure hes all falls
  19. Good luck to kayla on her olympic goals as well as her 'chance' to make it down state. Shes a great representation of indiana wrestling!
  20. Sliga- represented our state winning cadet nationals Gotta love that Berry-comes from the region gotta love that too Maurer-first season on the mat in a few years and what a season indeed gotta love that as well Ill be pleased with whoever takes the crown but id like to see maurer win it. Makes for a good story
  21. Coach Willman, If you dont mind me asking, who filled it? and who else is competing that weekend at Lowell?
  22. This is an interesting idea, but I honestly like the way things are now.
