  1. There were numerous blood times, Richey did get booed a lot, and the match went at least to the two ride-outs, but I can’t remember if it went UTB or not.
  2. Longest match(outside of Fix/Suriano) I’ve seen by far. From the first whistle to the hand raise, the match was between 25-30 minutes.
  3. Indiana is definitely on the rise and that would be a wonderful snatch for Angel. But Mendez is already ranked #2 in the nation at his weight class heading into his sophomore year. Every college coach is gonna be licking their chops at the opportunity of landing him.
  4. My current guess would be 149 or 157. Would be nice to see him back Sammy Sasso for a year and then plug in right after him....
  5. Deservedly so. He just keeps getting better and better every month it seems. His ceiling is very, very high.
  6. Something tells me this isn’t the last time we see this match.
  7. I think this is a good move for both Brock and IU. If he can still make 125, he’ll slot right in and drilling with guys like Asa, Moran, and the Rooks brothers helps everyone get better. Another wonderful pick-up for Angel.
  8. Christian Carroll places 7th with his placement win over a 2x Michigan D3 placer(4th @ 171 in 2018, 6th @ 189 this year). He’s for sure one of our freshman studs to look out for next year.
  9. Surprising not to see Donahue on there since he was #3 on Flo’s big board last summer.
  10. I’m baffled that first period takedown got reversed.
  11. As a diehard Ohio State fan, I really want Joey to win a national championship before he graduated, but also pretty bummed that it(if he even does win) it had to come at the expense of Nick. Wish they could both be national champions. That said, I wouldn’t count on Nick graduating without winning one.
  12. This is especially effective when trying to decide if, say, it comes down to if your 113 lber or 182 lber is the best on the team; odds are the wrestleoff should clear up who is actually better.
  13. Here’s something I’ve never seen; Austin Desantos won his match by DQ due to too many stalling calls. IN THE FIRST PERIOD. How the hell are you going to make the national championships and get disqualified for stalling not even three minutes in?
  14. Kudos to Angel and staff for this quick turnaround. Not only are our great in-state talents committing, some former ones are even jumping ship. Hudkins is a fantastic wrestler that will plug right in at 125 if he’s still light enough.
  15. Huge upset! Jacob Aven of Purdue knocks off Iowa’s Sam Stoll 5-2. Micic medical forfeited to Pletcher... hope it’s nothing serious. Red up now vs. Kanen Storr.
  16. Kleimola looked wonderful against the #7 seed. 13-4 major, committed to his shots and rode well. In my personal opinion, Luigs was very competitive even in a major decision loss. He scrambles like crazy.
  17. That’s a really good win for Drew. Foley has looked good every time I’ve watched him this year.
  18. I must have missed where the IHSAA started allowing 6th year seniors to compete.
  19. You’re right; you were actually one of my favorites to watch for a couple years. Still disagree with your points on Watts and Lee though lol.
  20. So if you’ve wrestled all three, would you mind letting the forum know who you are? Just so we can gauge how you would have fared against Nick Lee.
  21. I hate feeding the trolls, but in response to BackyardChamp’s three posts, in order; 1. 2 years, not three. And because he was running into other Indiana all-time greats who had the privilege of being born before him. 2. No. 3. He was ranked #1 in the country his senior year, which he forewent to prepare for college. However, I can name plenty of wrestlers that were “so good” that never ranked first nationally.
