  1. Still Petrov vs. Campbell for me. So much action out of two seniors who had been so close before laying it all on the line for their first title.
  2. Hey now! You should have known it was never a good idea to listen to me in the first place.
  3. Not Indiana, but Zahid Valencia going 106-113-132-182 always stuck out to me.
  4. This is only Landon’s second regular season loss since the start of last year. The other one was in overtime bumping up a weight class to face Pate Eastin last year, while he was ranked either 2nd or 3rd I believe. That’s the type wrestler that’s pretty easy to root for.
  5. My old teammate and coach’s son, Kenny Kerrn. He was injured during the state series as a sophomore but started off his junior year at 152 and took three early losses(albeit all to ranked wrestlers, I believe). Then made it down to 145 for the Al Smith where he teched returning state placer(and soon to be state runner-up) Kasper McIntosh in the quarterfinals while cruising through the rest of the tournament.
  6. This is likely the best solution to get more kids to come out. Football coaches who encourage the team to wrestle after the football season are very beneficial to the sport. As far as growing a fanbase…. I don’t know how. It seems like unless somebody wrestled themselves, or have a child in the sport, they just don’t seem to get excited by the sport for some reason.
  7. Jimtown had Nick and Collin Crume both wrestle under the lights with Nick getting a title. And of course the Gimson twins, Conner and Matt, who just recently placed 3rd and 4th and are now tearing it up at Indiana Tech. Conner won a championship last season.
  8. If I can make it that day, I’ll give you an autograph for only $10.
  9. Hoping for a fast and painless recovery for the whole family!
  10. For those genuinely curious though, rankings will be out this week, aiming for Thursday at the latest.
  11. Tldr, glad you still think about me often
  12. Plenty of wrestlers with Indiana ties competing at the MSU open tomorrow morning, 9:30 ET start time. Here’s the list according to Flo, apologies if I missed anyone. Standard Division 141 - Asa Garcia (Unattached) 141 - Jonathan Moran (Indiana) 141 - Alex Mosconi (Ohio) 149 - Ethan Smiley (Purdue) 157 - Jack Chesman (Indiana) 157 - Jonathan Kervin (Indiana) 157 - Jordan Slivka (Ohio) 165 - Isiah Levitz (Indiana) 174 - Joseph Walker (Michigan) 197 - Andrew Davison (Northwestern) 285 - Lucas Davison (Northwestern) Freshman/Sophomore Division 133 - Christian White (Purdue) 141 - Noah Mis (Northern Illinois) 149 - Jaden Reynolds (Purdue) 149 - Zack Rotkvich (Indiana) 157 - Brennan Doyle (Purdue) 165 - Robert Major (Indiana) 174 - Graham Calhoun (Wisconsin) 174 - Bryer Hall (Ohio State) 184 - Mitch Hutmacher (Purdue) 197 - Evan Bates (Northwestern) 285 - Tristan Ruhlman (Purdue)
  13. I voted for them, albeit out of bias and optimism rather than where I was actually expecting haha.
  14. I’d love to see Buckeyes, but I’m going to guess Michigan.
  15. 2016 was pretty crazy. Drew Hildebrandt, Chad Red, Jacob Covaciu, Drew Hughes, Blake Rypel, and Shawn Streck
  16. Assuming you mean Veazy… I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
  17. Didn’t the Jimmies beat the Panthers like two days after the last time you said that?
  18. I’m still impartial to the 2016 106 lbs. There was a ticket round match between two guys who would end up having six state championship match appearances between the two.
