Y2CJ41
It looks like Lee is the first one up on Mat B. He is wrestling 63kg for Greco and 58kg for freestyle.
grecoref
If he truly wants to get better what is he doing messing around wrestling those foreign guys when he could be wrestling in that big folkstyle tournament up in Michigan?
Y2CJ41
He did just tech a Canadian guy, Michigan is just Canada south in most people's minds.
Nick Dewig
Michigan??? Is that north of Indy or some fancy French cuisine?

Y2CJ41
Michigan??? Is that north of Indy or some fancy French cuisine? It is this place that is a vast wasteland and smells funny, but not the Ohio funny.

maligned
Outside of Lee, the US greco team is 12-4 so far, so his two techs and a pin are strong results.
SWINfan
I'm not too familiar with Olympic style wrestling. What kind of competition is Lee getting in this kind of tournament? Is there a tournament in the US that might compare to it?
maligned
The rest of his teammates are also some of the best at his age in the U.S. and they went a combined 16-4 in greco. So we're better than the competition, but he performed about the best of anyone. He'll face stiffer tests in freestyle, but there are only a few nations at the event that could potentially have kids that can go with Nick. Most of the Pan Am nations are not traditional world powers. If venezuela and cuba have their best guys there, there's at least a shot he could face a future olympic-caliber guy
maligned
Nick killed it again today in freestyle. He had 3 first period techs to take the gold. The rest of the American freestyle team went a combined 26-4 with 6 out of 9 of those other than Nick also getting titles. So again, not the toughest competition, but he clearly performed above the team average level.
