Seeding Criteria

I am having trouble coming up with a scenerio that an undefeated wrestler would not get #1 seed unless the other guy is undefeated as well.

Wrestler A: 35-0

Wrestler B- 30-2

Losses of wrestler B are NOT to Wrestler A or to anyone that Wrestler A has beaten. Wrestler B went to state last year, while Wrestler A went to regional. Thus Wrestler B gets the seed.

How many undefeated wrestlers DID NOT get seeded #1 due to new criteria?

There are times when this is the way it should be.  Sometimes people are undefeated because they dont try to challenge themselbes with tough comp.  State qualifiers from other yeasr usually try to wrestle the toughest guys possible.

This is because CC does not wrestle a very competitive schedule.  If Scott is seeded 3, this means he never wrestled the 1 and 2 seed.  It also means that the 1 and 2 seed advanced further in last years post season compared to Scott.  This is to prevent teams who wrestle a weak schedule essentially walking into the finals during postseason.  If he is the rightful 1 seed he will have a chance to prove it against Neibarger this Saturday.
