MattM
So he was avoiding Roach? Or its easier for him to accomplish considering he get I believe 5lb at the event compared to the season. Or he (they) didn't feel like worrying about constant weight dropping during the high school year. Or he (they) wanted to wrestle up a weight to help used to the feel of bigger stronger guys he would encounter in college. Or he (they) wanted to help his team by allowing another good wrestler into the line up at the lower weight. Or something else. I'm not sure what weight you could go to in order to avoid all major competition throughout the year. Who knows it could be several reasons for moving weights just like a lot of other people throughout the year. I would guess he is dropping to this certified weight in order to help his chances of having a good showing at a very tough Senior National event.
