littlevito Posted February 20, 2010 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Just heard that South Adams lost the appeal for West to get a medal from the flagrant misconduct. Apparently both wrestlers aren't sure why it happened. Just goes to show how the IHSAA is for the kids. First Jay County Regional and now this. Not saying anything wrong on the referee's decision, it is all judgemental. But Jim West is not that type of wrestler to go out and head butt someone. MattM Posted February 21, 2010 Share Posted February 21, 2010 I will give Charlestowns wrestler's some major credit for acting very mature and not wanting to have the match go out like that. He was trying to make an appeal to the ref to understand what was happening with the call and then went on to appologize to the wrestler and the South Adams coaches for having the mach end like that. At least he wanted to see the outcome decided on the mat and didn't like the fact he had to accept the win in that way. What really sucks the most out of it is losing the actual medal spot that the South Adams kids worked for even if the match did get awarded to the Charlestown kids.
