Y2CJ41
Congrats to the two freshman at 189lbs qualifying for state in Mitch Sliga and Matt Hurford. Great job for qualifying for state at a weight class usually reserved for the upperclassmen.
MattM
At that weight, its impressive to see anyone not a senior at state. Two freshman making it that far is a major accomplishment.

Agreed. Id say our Future for the big guys is lookin good... u see a lot of freshman and underclassman have success at the lower/middle weights but rare to see a freshman make a state run at the big boy weights
consecobound
Wow, Matt Hurford is the real deal! I would of love to watch the two Freshmen wrestle each other next weekend. Was Hurford ever ranked during the season?
Y2CJ41
No Hurford has only been on the watch list. He had a couple bad losses during the season and turned it on at the right time of the season to qualify for state.
busstogate
Ol' Hurford sure was dominant in middle school. Anyone who had the unfortunate job of coaching on the other side didn't see this tourney as a surprise other than to see someone so young at this weight class bump seniors out. His coach must be a god! ;D
