Congratulations go out to Trent McCormick for being elected Vice-President of the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association. Trent graduated from Delta High School in 1986 where he was coached by the legendary Don Patton. While in High School Trent won an Individual State Championship in 1986 (he had placed 4th in 1985). Trent wrestled at Wabash College for a year before transferring to Ball State where he completed his degree. During the 1986-87 season, at Wabash, he was 16-4 as a Heavyweight. Trent was an Assistant Coach at Yorktown for a year before becoming Head Coach there in 1988. He has been the Head Coach at Yorktown for 21 years and has built a fine program there. Trent spent a number of those years as a "Lay" Coach before he made the decision to return for another degree, in Education. He is now a Teacher at Yorktown. The IHSWCA is looking forward to Trent's leadership.

I spoke with Trent yesterday at Greco State, his passion for the sport is obvious. Congratulations Coach!
