    I recall being at middle school state at new castle every year on the Sunday after regionals when they got released each year. Typically about mid-day.

    Mooresville Hwt #17 Kaba (pike) over #5 Johnson (Franklin community) in semis. Couple tough losses for Franklin Community that round. Still a good 4 way team race. Brownsburg and Avon 6 in finals Center Grove 5 in finals Franklin Community 3 in finals 1. Brownsburg 118.0 2. Center Grove 112.5 3. Avon 97.5 4. Franklin Commun 82.5

    At Mooresville 220 #9 Dickens (Avon) over #6 Eason (Franklin community) in OT. Semis 4 way team race is amazing!

    And Mooresville is missing 3 kids that were ranked in the top 4. That regional is not getting easier anytime soon. Most the kids that come out of that regional are year round wrestlers. They are Red Cobra, Contenders, and CIA kids. They also have some of the best coaches in the state. Coaches that you see at most off season events. Great youth programs and especially good middle school coaches!

    Thanks for the explanation Jake. With that said. I think that having a disconnect form the Middle school national team will hurt this event and the strength of our national team. Some people come to middle school state just to have a shot of making the team. And... now wrestle off for the national team falls right in the middle of most kids spring break. Most vacations were planed months ago. Not to mention some people won’t want to get on weight again and travel to Indy for a wrestle off. I think the national team and the middle school state tourney would be much stronger if we can figure out a way to keep them linked. The ISWA has also been forthcoming in there reasons for holding the wrestler offs when they have decided to. They have been very responsive. Again.. thanks for taking time to explain your reasoning. Stand up dude!

    My point is like in most situations when your dealing with numbers, you can twist them to support your side or point of view. Clearly CNN is in the fear for views or clicks business. I just think that WE can do this the right way. What does this article have to do with the price of tea in China? Nothing. Can we learn from it? Maybe. I still think with the proper measures we can continue to hold events and have a semi-successful end to our season. It’s just my humble opinion (which I’m entitled too Chief). Again, glass half full guy here. I’m curious... what’s your takeaway from this story? Do you think we should shut down? Or do you agree with my take on moving forward and use this story as a reminder to continue to take the proper measures?

    So... 20 people people out of 1,400 that attended were diagnosed as positive after this event. That is less than 2% that attended. Per the WHO, a 5% positivity rate is the "too high" threshold. So... is fake news.... I mean.... CNN saying that they did a good job? Not sure what this story means? I guess it means that these folks did a crappy job wearing mask, and still had an infection rate below 2%. With that said... I think if we do a good job masking up, we can even cut that number way down!!! Am I wrong? Shouldn't the headlines say.. "Infected people attended an event with 1,400 people. Due to limited attendance, masking, social distancing, and other measures the infection rate remained under 2%" I guess I'm just a glass half full kind of guy.

    I... Mattyb do hereby make the Commitment to Facebook one of the four mats during the whole weekend. Just get me a chair on the floor for the weekend. I am willing To make the sacrifice for all of the Indiana wrestling fans. Now... we just need 3 more dedicated fans, that will pledge to stay sober during all the breaks, to bring us the other three mats. What say all?????!!!!

    There is no way that we can’t social distance 224 wrestlers, about 200 coaches, 100 workers and refs and 1,000 fans at bankers life. Mask up, respect each other’s space, and make it work. How is anybody questioning if this can happen? We all know that we have wrestling going on in smaller venues with a smaller space to people ratio. Why is it ok to have a middle school 8 way dual in a single middle school gym with two fans per wrestler and not state in a massive venue with tons of space? There is no conformity. This is many peoples frustration. I can see why people think it’s faux-fear. Also... if you are high risk or need to spend time with high risk individuals... please stay home. btw... again.. my dad is 69 and has stage 4 cancer. They haven’t allowed him a shot yet. I haven’t seen him in months. I don’t go around him because I coach and go to places like wrestling events. Can’t wait until he gets his shot soon!

    The MAC is an awesome conference. We all know that my son chose that route. He’s left my house a week after graduation and hasn’t looked back. He has not asked me for a dime. He’s proud that’s he earned his own way (between wrestling and academic money). He’s got a shot at being a five year D1 starter and is on the deans list. He’s there with 3 other kids that he grew up with too. He has been fortunate and it appears that he chose a great fit for him. But.. there is no right or wrong answer. It all comes down to what works for the kid. No two situations will ever be the same. We do supply him with sun beam bread, jiff peanut butter, and welches jelly. But, that’s about it. Some of my sons buddies are at the big ten schools. Most feel like they have made great choices also. No right or wrong choice.. just good or better choice. Congrats to any kid that gets to the point to make that choice.

    A wise man has suggest that we shoot sun light or bleach into our bodies. That may work.

    It’s not helping that our state government is doing an absolute crappy job of Distributing the vaccines. We have vaccines, but most of it is just sitting there while the government figures out who gets it next.

    Went to a college dual in West Virginia last weekend. There were 4 teams. Each wrestler was able to put 4 names on the list. The venue seated 14,000. When we got there we had to go to the ticket booth, tell them the wrestlers name, and get assigned seats. We had to sit in those seats as they spaced us out all over the venue. They also allowed clear plastic bags with food and drink because there was no concessions. It worked very well.

    I clearly know who you are! I agree with your take, but wasn’t remotely referring to you. I was asking if Pribble was the guy who chimed in earlier this year about the spread of Covid? Just was putting two and two together. I do think your boy is going to do great this post season tho. Sorry for the confusion????
