If the goal is to achieve a better balance, they failed miserably at the Evansville North Regional.

Central had 10 wrestlers entered in the sectional, but they do a great job hosting a sectional, probably would great at a regional also. That's the point; central has a historically strong program with 20+ consecutive years of hosting a big event.

Castle and Central Sectionals, net effect: The Castle sectional loses 10th place finisher Tell City and 3rd place finisher Reitz, in exchange for 10th place finisher Wood Memorial (Central sectional) and 9th place finisher Washington (Southridge sectional). The Central sectional loses 10th place finisher Wood Memorial and 7th place finisher Pike Central in exchange for 3rd place finisher Reitz. As a result, 5 of the top 7 teams of the 2017 Castle regional will be....at the Central sectional. The only way you could make the Castle sectional even weaker is to make the Knights compete at Central. Ridiculous. Speaking of Castle, who voted to move the regional to North? Castle sets the bar for hosting a tournament: great facilities, extremely organized, starts/ends on time, great concessions and outstanding volunteers. Has North ever hosted a tournament? North entered nine wrestlers in the sectional. Nine. In the dual meet against Mater Dei, the Huskies brought six varsity wrestlers and zero jv wrestlers. Are they going to have enough volunteers to staff and run a regional? Here's a novel idea-- let North host the SIAC or sectional. See how it goes for a couple of years, THEN let them host the regional. This is a case study of being set up to fail.

You are both right! His first year he, in fact, did pin THE Nick Lee. BTW- THE Nick Lee is no relation to PONL (Plain 'Ole Nick Lee). THE Nick Lee (He is actually named THE Nick Lee IV, it's a proud family name) was in town visiting his grandmother. Poor thing was a bit dyslexic and thought the IHPO was the "International House of Pancakes." The first time wrestler figured "what the heck!" and entered the tournament. It did not go well. Even worse, he has lost his taste for pancakes.

BTW- For those not paying attention, Maurer-Coughlin wrestling DOMINATED middle school state with three champs and 14 additional medalists.
