Rj, noticed your school is adams central but you have posted exclusively about Monroe Central. was this a mistake or are you just really really really informed on wrestling that is two counties away especially about a team that is typically not very strong.

Even after Winchester with two guys down handed it to them this past weekend?

Good to hear! as always Centerville will be a different team at the end of the season. When they used to attend the Raider Duals they always seemed a little down and by the time TEC rolled around they were a force! How long has it been since Monroe Central beat Centerville? And how many of their guys were move ins from Muncie South? The football team got a lot of help in that area.

Just saw Monroe Central beat Centerville! Congrats to them. Looks like county will be an actual battle instead of just a dual for Winchester and Union City. That being said is Centerville still in the talk of winning TEC this season? Does anyone have a full roster? I thought Winchester did but apparently I was wrong. I know they will have a couple of guys who usually start back in the lineup in the next week.

Hey UCfootball congrats on the 4-1 day. Think you'll be able to handle Winchester later this season? You guys wrestle like 4 times every season.

That's good to hear. Didn't get down to shenandoah this morning family things going on this afternoon. Did hear the Winchester went 5-0 and Union City went 4-1 losing to Winchester. Heard that Winchester looked dominant (as expected) but the Raider Duals are not exactly dominant.

Who all is at Shenandoah this weekend and where is everyone else?

I was told by another wrestler that Halcomb is not wrestling this season. Ankle injury and weight cutting issues is what I was told. Big loss to the Falcons figured Kolt would have been a good part of the lineup. As far as I know a decent freshman will be taking the spot. Falcons are very young despite having a ton return. I'll try to find out more about an actual lineup the next couple days.

I wouldn't be surprised if Underwood, Prescott, Holcomb, and Hangen all place top 2. I wish we could get some more info from other schools on here. Would make conversation a lot better. That being said when/where does everyone kick off their season. As far as I know Winchester and Union City both are at the Shenandoah Raider Duals the weekend after Thanksgiving.
  10. Very unfortunate if this is the whole story. I wouldn't imagine a coach just refusing to wrestle with his best lineup.

I believe the younger one moved in with their dad. I could be wrong though.

Anyone have potential rosters? I know Winchester has Prescott, Thompson, Klingle, Halcomb, D. Hangen, Underwood all coming back. Jared Hangen moved schools I believe. Jason Hale is a solid freshman light weight for Winchester. Dillon Williams will also look to add depth to the upper weights. Heard Union City is down in numbers again. Do have a C team for basketball though which could explain the low numbers. Another solid lightweight freshman is Jamison Parker and I have heard that there is also a freshman at 106 Wyatt Hoover.

I'm gonna take WC when the tournament rolls around. Young but tough.

  17. Speaking from another sports class perspective (baseball) I would have been extremely excited to have even won a sectional in class 2a baseball. I played on a team that was subpar at best but we had great participation and had some great times. Our wrestling team (our schools most successful sport by win percentage) is lucky to have a full team. Our basketball programs on the other hand had some success in the recent past and made it to a couple 2a state championship games for the boys and a couple long runs and i believe 3 regional titles in a row. Nobody looks down on their titles because they are 2a titles. They still celebrate and talk about them. I am not for giving out participation trophies and I've had my butt handed to my in baseball more times than I can count and wrestling eded up a disaster for me after internal injures but I don't think winning the 1a title would be a demeaning thing. Winning a 1a title would be celebrated just as much as our last state champion wrestler in 09. I also second the good wrestlers playing basketball to win. We have had multiple guys who played basketball, won sectional and regional titles. They then gave up basketball for wrestling and were semi state qualifiers. So I think success factor does matter to a young kid and could make a difference whether or not they wrestle. Why would you not want to increase participation in the sport?

    Gloating

I say let em celebrate. I am all for having class in everything you do whether it be school, work, athletics, etc. but you also gotta have fun. We take sports a little too seriously sometimes imo. It's not taunting it's showing emotion after a hard fought battle. I promise nobody is looking down on the guy the just beat 3 to 2 in overtime they are just pumped for themselves. Plus you better believe if I won a state championship I wouldda went crazy and I can't even dance. Maybe pull out a slow dance or something

  21. Y2, I guess my point was trying the class system would be worth it. Worst case scenario sometime in the future they have to revert back to the classless system. I agree 100% that it's on coaching and a few other factors to build a program.
  22. Why don't we just say screw it, try a sample class system for a year or two, and if it doesn't work go back and if it seems to work keep it? Trial and error. May not work but hey at least we tried right? Then we would know for sure and end this never ending argument. I am for a 2 class system by the way.
  23. Hostility! Folks we just need to relax a little and focus on quality wrestling not schedule strength. We are not on the BCS committee for pete's sake! ;D
  24. And with Muncie's consolidation next year and some form of Randolph County consolidation in the very near future things could get more interesting since there will be a couple more large schools there
