John Friedt passed away today around 9:30am.

Mary, The Entire Friedt family, and The Belmont Wrestling Community, You have are our deepest sympathy and condolences for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and mentor. You will be in our prayers for the days, weeks , and months ahead. May God give you his comfort and strength during this very, very difficult time. Be assured that John is at peace in a much higher place and God has one of the best wrestling coaches on His team in heaven! PLEASE if there is anything we can do or provide for you just ask and we will be there! God bless and comfort you, The Columbia City Wrestling Club -
To Mary, John , and the rest of the Friedt family, You are in our prayers for John to make a full recovery and for God to give you his strength and comfort during this difficult time! The Columbia City Wrestling Club would like to thank everyone that participated in our tournament! Hopefully, everyone had an enjoyable experience! Thank you again.

1) 15-30 depending on schools we wrestled and if a varsity or JV wrestler 2) two invitationals and two conference tournaments 3) 30-40 varies year to year 4) 6th grade 5) Only the varsity matches are scored towards the team total. One thing I don't care for is, in our conference forfeits do not count towards the team score. Some schools we wrestle in conference only wrestle their best wrestlers against us to try and get the team win. Our team wrestles that weight class if we have a wrestler at that weight.

These mats are very nice. My only suggestion would be to get the solid sections. Do not get the sections with the 6 inch strips. They seem to tear easily because it is only the mat material holding them together.

I do not know Taylor personally but I have always been impressed by his wrestling and his sportsmanship. I have always pointed him out to my middle school aged son who wrestles. Congratulations on winning a state title and the mental attitude award! Thank you for being a great role model to the younger wrestlers!

BIGJOESCOUT, I like your ideas. I think it needs to be two days, on Saturday, or have qualifiers, etc. The kids education needs to come first. I am sure several wrestlers will miss school Monday. Just my thoughts. GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE WRESTLING!

Am I correct the registration is open until 11:59CST tonight? Also, the length of this tournament is the past is one reason we have not signed up yet. I have always told my kids that your education is the most important and wrestling comes second. I hope this will become a two day tournament or have regional qualifiers. Good luck to all wrestlers!!! -
