  1. So you don't think it would help?
  2. What would it take for an ethics committee to be created? From my understanding this would be a positive step towards working more with the IHSAA which in turn would hopefully help with getting wrestle backs put in place. Also what power would they have and what are some examples of when they would enforce those powers? Just to stop anyone from taking this personal. I really am not talking about any situation in particular. I am just very strongly in support of wrestle backs and there were quite a few instances that it would have been great to have yesterday. And it is like that every single year.
  3. A bow and arrow isn't illegal. At least the ones I have seen coached. So I am not sure what you are talking about.
  4. Just to clarify. I believe refs make mistakes also. We are all human. That is why we need to put some kind of safety net to help with these kind of situations. Such as wrestle backs.
  5. To call it an illegal move is wrong. He was trying to run a cross face cradle and Ludinbill was fighting not to go with it. In my opinion this should have been stopped for potentially dangerous and not an illegal move. This should have never came down to the trainer making the decision. Just another reason in my opinion to have wrestle backs to 4th. In the 15 years that I have been coaching I have not seen this called this way. I really just think it was a bad call.
  6. Yeah that one ranks up there with one of the crazy ones.
  7. Totally selfish reasoning. It is not about you or the fans. It is about the kids. Bottom line. You can take everything else and shove it.
  8. Interesting. We will have to see. Carroll and Goshen are not too shabby this year either.
  9. I'll buy one and wear it. You could put the names of the fallen wrestlers this year with bad draws.
  10. Okay. It is Tim Day that you coach with. He is a great guy.
  11. We were in the same weight class in 93 then. I drew Tim Myers for the second year in a row in the ticket round. :*)
  12. Agreed. Now give us wrestle backs. :
  13. WOW!!! Nothing but respect for him, his family, and the Bellmont program. Thanks for posting.
  14. I was too busy making trying to make sure you didn't lose.
  15. Do you mean you had a wrestler wrestling on the mat next to it? You are a little old. I do believe that would be around your weight class though.
  16. That match was awesome. I get pumped just thinking about it.
  17. I remember back in 92 or 93 when Mike Ester beat out Aaron Wilson the returning runner up at State. That one left an impression on me. Aaron took off out of there. Not sure if anyone has ever seen him since. Sometimes late at night people say you can see him wondering around the coliseum with his hood up. But that could just be a rumor.
  18. Sliga would have teched or pinned them both in the first period. Possibly at the same time. What a joke.
  19. Yes I have seen it. It really is just a sign of lack of maturity. Usually it is the younger coaches. That is why you have to make sure your assistance, especially the younger ones, are always doing the right things. If you are head coach and doing it you need to find a different job. Probably not one dealing with kids or people for that matter.
  20. It really isn't rocket science. How is every good wrestling tournament ran? They have wrestle backs to 3rd. So why is the one tournament that the kids train for set up that way? What is that teaching the kid? Nothing, other than politics suck and sometimes you can't get anything done. But honestly they don't need to learn that from wrestling they can just turn on the news. We obviously have to change the mindset of the IHSAA which for some reason is impossible. 1. We have to show them why it is important to get the top 16 kids to state. 2. Convince them that they should not compare all sports to each other. (IE Basketball) Good luck with this one. I just read a huge article on ESPN about Indiana and basketball. You tell me why we get compared to that sport. Yes I am one of those people that got screwed 2 years in a row over political bull crap. And I would love to see it not happen to any other kids especially my own when they get older. Like Coach Miracle said there is enough other variables that come into play. Why not try to fix the ones we can.
  21. My favorite yearly topic. Wrestlebacks are pointless. This is a great way to teach kids that life just isn't fair. So people need to just quit whining.
