  1. With them handling Yorktown and still being undefeated? I say they would beat all 1A and 2A teams. How would they do against the top ten of the 3A? Any chance there will be any of those match ups in the future?
  2. Drake Rhodes Homestead 132 over Erik Owens Warren Central 7-0 before the DQ.
  3. Did you just answer your own question?
  4. Drake Rhodes Homestead Ranked 13th at 132 wrestled up to 138 and defeated Jaylen Wallace New Palenstine Ranked 12th at 138. Score was 7-2.
  5. They look about right to me. I guess we will not find out till semi-state since the NHC decided it couldn't handle real teams.

  7. Yeah I can't get the documentary out of my mind. I agree with you. It was pretty obvious at the end that Kolat is scarred pretty hard. In the end just like any sport Wrestling should supplement your life, not be everything.
  8. Took this picture yesterday of the Coliseum from the parking lot of the Holiday Inn across the street. Just happened to be there and thought it was relevant. If your team was good enough to qualify make a night of it and stay and not worry getting back at 3AM. Before you say cost. Do a chicken fundraiser. I will buy one. I love chicken.
  9. Look here is the bottom line. I have never gotten to watch a Team State because of distance and family obligations. Now that it is in FW and the school I am associated with is planning on helping. I am now obligated to go and help. Everyone else can complain all they want. But me personally I am selfishly excited. Sorry Mama Gorrilla.
  10. The FW coliseum is a great venu for this. I would guess it will remind a many of the old timers of Market Square. Also there are plenty of places to stay, restaurants, lack of traffic, and a great mall down the street for the women folk. Understandably the 5 hour drive will not be fun, but give it a shot and see what you think. Thanks for the opportunity!
  11. Yeah what Maligned said. Thanks dstruck for the run down on what the reasons were. We need that so we can over come the objections in the future.
  12. What is the date for this to be turned down?
  13. I think it is over rated and over hyped!
  14. I remember Howe his first couple years in College and there wasn't a whole lot of opening up but that changed. I just think the first couple years of colllege (especially at the level of competition he is at) opening up intelligently is extremely hard to do. It is easy to sit back on say wow he just needs to wrestle like we know he can. He is a very smart kid and his stragedy could have won him his second title but it was a little short. And yes there should have been a second stalling call especially since there was a very close takedown that did not go his way. I do feel College wrestling in general is going in the right direction as far as the action goes. There is no doubt he will be swinging for the fences the next couple years. If we want to look at the positive side at least he got some pressure off his back. As a coach and a former wrestler I know that is one of the hardest things to deal with. I can't imagine trying to live up to the top 4 or 5 guys to ever to wrestle in US. I know there are no Tsirtsis bashers here I just think we can't even mentally put ourselves where he is at. Looking forward to watching him the next couple years.
  15. Were we watching the same match? I thought he was very offensive. I would have to go back and watch it again but he stalked him the whole time (at least after he was down) and worked on multiple setups and was in on quite a few shots. His opponent got a takedown and ran the rest of the time.
  16. What about booing coaches that wear blue jeans?
  17. Since I didn't see this topic brought up this year. I think we should boo when a wrestler doesn't shake the opposing coaches hand after the match.
  18. I totally agree that a young wrestler should never be booed. I was booed when I walked off of the mat in the semi finals of semi-state by a school that I have nothing but respect for. I still remember what that felt like and the anger that I had. I just agree with the fact that the booing may have become more frequent (which I think it has) because of the self called injury times. People start thinking it is acceptable and it snow balls.
  19. I would agree with this. We also need to stop the self injury times that a ton more frequent then they used to be.
  20. The only time a true second makes any sense is if it is for qualifying for the next tournament. We just need a true 4 at semi-state. The rest of the broken garbage I can live with.
  21. I was way up in the 200s on the other side and I thought I kept hearing the beginning of Gladiator. I now know what it was. Thanks!
  22. Agreed! I believe it is fine to boo a bad call. But the call needs to be seperated from the kid. The wrestler did not make the call. The blood time booing was ridiculous. Especially since almost everytime it was the ref stopping it.
  23. Seems like if snows like this every year. I would say no worries.
