132 NC Thrine bumps up to vs 138 Ethan Thompson aka Iswa FS state champ of Beech Grove.. Threw him to his back and Thompson couldn't continue via concussion protocol.. Kid was really put together well and very strong..Wishing the young man a speedy recovery.

With 7 ranked guys possibly at NCSS..1,4,9,13,15,16, and 18.. Then add in Carson Johnson, SQ Hughes, Ashton Brandon, Drew Willis and I'm sure there's more.. LOADED is under statement with Koontz,pierson, White,Hooper,Thrine,Frazier,Gonzalez plus those I mentioned above unranked who In most years would be ranked had it not been the murders row of all murders row.

Few years back Thomas Penola at the Al Smith reeled of win after win over 4 ranked guys being unranked winning 170 title.. Beat Jordan Rader aka 3x SQ being a State runner up, Jarod swank 3x SQ while being 5th place finisher,Zack Fattore 3rd&4th state medals and had he not been screwed at state in the semis with a def pin call he would've very likely been state champ after dominating all year and that match vs Rader , also Penola beat 2x SQ Tavonte Malone.. Only to lose in the ticket round at the NCSS to eventual 7th place finisher Jake Ruberg later that season.. And went on as a senior to get 3rd losing a heart breaker in OT to World Silver medalist Lucas Davison.

He came to NC semi state last year and talked to @Perseverance and myself.. He really does care about the sport and was nothing but class.

Congrats to the East Central Trojans coming from behind to knock off Floyd Central 33-32 with Bovard getting the pin at 195.. Very good tournament for them..We use to have WARS to the team Dual regional titles back in the day and knew that their very solid line up would fare well at team state.. Been a great day of Wrestling all the way around.

Us Trojans lost one of the G.O.A.Ts today and I'm just for words.. Such a A1 guy and a Veteran that served his family and community alike!
