  1. Asher lost I n the finals at Whitko to Mishawaka Marian. The Marian kid was legit. Also how did Johnson beat them both if you thought Johnson was undefeated? My bad didn't read it close enough. Johnson beat Northside and Wayne, though you meant NS and CL. My bad. A 2.5 year old kid running around, yelling kills your reading comprehension.
  2. Mooney CN beat Yoder earlier this year. There is a 5 or 10 match rule that some of the coaches stick to pretty much no matter what. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Returning champ same weight might also get him the 1 seed. Not sure if the number of matches thing will over rule it.
  3. Fernando Luevano being back should make for a fun seeding meeting at the old NECC.
  4. Classy call-out there. Curious which coaches are you referring too?
  5. I'll bet you that the percent of state qualifiers by class corresponds within 4% +/- of the total student population of each class. It us usually pretty close to how it works out, which is what you would expect. Want to take me up on that bet?
  6. So I should just accept the class wrestling proponents argument that 12% of the population should make up 33% of the state qualifiers? That is one of the key linchpins of their argument, Ill never see how anyone sees that as being statistically sound. Saying that classed state champs don't "throw away their medals" and that they "don't cry about winning a watered down state title" is just as much of an anecdotal/ emotional argument as me saying that I talked to a kid from Ohio once who "wished that they had single class". Or pointing out that Eric Guerrero said that our one class system was awesome, at the coaches clinic a few years back. Both sides use emotion in the arguments.
  7. That is not necessarily the case. As a one class supporter I can tell you that most of the stats that are thrown around by class supporters can be viewed in different ways depending on how you interpret the data. If you debate this you are almost always attacked from about 10 different places and you end up in hours of discussion that go no where. I think that most of us have just given up on having any kind of debate on here, but the idea that class supporters just discuss things with emotion is off base. I will say that in my opinion there are both positive and negative outcomes that come form both classing and staying one class.
  8. Do any teams have that are currently out of top 10 have a shot at the team title? Cathedral would seem like a likely canidate. I don't know much about Lowell, but with Cummings and Hughes it would seem as though they could be in contention. Any others stand out as having a shot at it?
  9. The IHSAA doesn't want wrestlebacks. The coaches from around the state don't want class wrestling, do you have any suggestions for what the IHSWCA should go after? Sorry I misread your comment, those all seem like fine suggestions.
  10. A couple of quick thoughts. 1. An all in IHSWCA classed individual tourney would be nearly impossible given how scheduling works. 2. I don't believe that the IHSWCA should or would push for classing the individual tournament given that any time polling has been conducted on the subject a majority of the coaches have responded that they prefer to have a one class individual tournament. There is a very vocal minority that would like to see a classed tournament, but a majority of the state is still against it.
  11. Any other teams have parents yelling at there kids who were warming up to sit down? I had some guy actually yell at me during the meet to make my kids, who were warming up, sit down. The best was after one of our duals finished I called our guys over to the middle of the mat to talk to our team and a lady came on the mat and yelled at us to move as she was trying to watch the mat across the arena I guess. I understand it was packed and it can stink to not see everything, but some of the fans seemed to put their experience above that of the wrestlers.
  12. Is it in effect now or after New Year? I thought it was new year, but some of my kids are praying for after Christmas haha.
  13. OK so Carroll, Eastside, and Garrett all have the matches with us from Carroll scored, and they are coming up on our "duals" page. Are they also on our stats page? Or do we have to click the "import duals"? Do we have to enter the stats in ourselves? Not complaining, just honestly don't know. Also does anyone know how to print off a stats sheet that would have wins/ losses, opponents, and stats vs opponents using the stats program? Essentially what you would need for a seeding meeting.
  14. If you are in an event and that event is ran on track is there anyway to have the stats automatically go into your stats program? For example we are in the Carroll Super Duals this weekend. I'm pretty sure it is being ran on track. Will those matches automatically go onto our stats or do we have to manually enter them still?
  15. You could do three pools of three. Then have the winners wrestle in a three team pool, the second place teams in a three team pool, and the third place teams in a three team pool. Then you could wrestle those pools off for placements. Every team would get four matches, and you would have fairly accurate placements. I guess it depends on what is more important, accurate placings, getting five matches, everyone getting the same amount of matches?
  16. Are you on a phone? I have trouble finding them on my phone too. You need to change the view to full site at the bottom of the page as far as I can tell, then choose rankings at the top of the page. Anyone else know of another way?
  17. We purchased the program. I am sure it will work great once we figure it out, but I have spent the last three days worth of prep periods watching videos trying to figure out how to enter stats when we are offline, view reports, print reports and make sense of it all. I do not see how you could even use the stats program without spending at least an hour watching how-to videos to figure it out. I am not Bill Gates or anything, but it is the only website that I frequent that I need to watch a video to do anything. I think track does some cool stuff, they just need to clean up how it runs. It has been extremely frustrating trying to figure it out here at the start of the year, again I am sure once we figure out how to do it, it will be great, they just need to work on being more user friendly IMO. BTW I am still not sure that we will have it figured out for tomorrow haha.
