  1. Amazing accomplishment Jaylin! Everyone back here at BIC is extremely proud of you! Excellent role model for the young people of SB!
  2. These guys are both amazing wrestlers and I doubt they will be losing sleep over each other.....but IMO I'd rather not be the Senior with this draw.
  3. Haha...I was wondering when this would come up. No offense Colonials, but those are atrocious...funny, but atrocious. I know they are probably a little dated and old news now with all the sublimated singlets....but SB Riley's championship singlets were always one of my favs.
  4. Don't know if this has already been posted but...Tony McWilliams will be taking over for Murray Miller at SB Washington. Sorry if this is old news at Indianamat.com already.
  5. Booing someone on this website in itself seems pretty childish. Why would anyone even bring this topic up?!??! ....what is the importance!?!?!? ...just a sad attempt to make someone else feel inferior.
  6. I also play...CTF.....a "capture the flag". We use pennies...I.E..the colored BBall jerseys. You can also just use your shirt. You take it off and tuck in your shorts.....like a flag in flag FB. All wrestlers are in...if you step off the mat you are out. If your "flag" gets pulled..you are out! Wrestlers run around the mat and try to pull another wrestler's flag, while protecting their own. Teaches the wrestlers to be aware and quick on their feet. You play till you get down to the final two.... last one with a flag wins! And yeah..."mat ball" as someone else said.....scary! We do it twice a year(if that) ...kids want it more, but not worth the risk of injury!
  7. yeah...we play this one 1 on 1. It's called "Mat Ball"...but a better name is "Kick the SH@# Out of Each Other!" I line the guys guys up by weight and # them off....1,2,1,2. So there is a team 1 and 2. then i go down the line and and number each wrestler off....1,2,3,4,5,etc.....so there are 2 #3's, 2 # 4's ...one on each team. I place each team on the edge of the mat with a half inflated soccer/volleyball in the middle. Then call out a #! Object of game!?!?!? ...retrieve the ball and bring it back to your side for a point. Even if you grab the other guy (who has the ball in his hands) and drag, carry, etc him to your side.....your point! If you can get the ball and bring it to your side..point.....like FB. Great MS game...toughens them up....if they don't hurt each other first! They love it!
  8. Yeah these two are excelling as Sophmores in a weight class that dominated by Juniors and Seniors. What's crazier yet is that had these two wrestled at one of the other SS's they might be going to Indy as a #1 or #2 seed. Not meaning any disrespect to the other SS's....but with Merrillvlle havin Lentz and Cleveland!?!?!? It will be interesting to see their Friday matches. These two are going to see a lot of each other for the next 2 years...will be fun to watch! Congrats and nice job guys!
  9. No, 215 in merrillvile is LOADED ....and Gallegos is a very good up and coming wrestler. Gallegos is one to watch over the next couple years. I coached him in MS..he's a great kid! I also heard Sumner didn't even wrestle today (disciplinary) and Curtis Vice took the spot?!?!?!? Thanks for all the updates !!!
  10. troll verb (COMPUTING) /trəʊl/, /trɒl//troʊl/ v [i or T] to leave an insulting message on a part of the Internet for no reason ...seriously!??! Give the kid a break. I'm sure they are "Big" wins to him!
  11. Whoever comes out the 4th seed of the Merrillville SS @ 215 could be a sleeper just because of the depth of this weight at Merrillville. Some #1 from one of the other 3 SS may go home on Friday night.
  12. What it's okay to do this now!?!?! Well I am glad...just remember getting my head bit off for talking up some unranked kid in 2008-09. I think he finished pretty well....hmm..
  13. ...i bet the Bears wish Berrian was still in a Chicago uni right now!!! :'( and yeah Orton is a pretty decent QB. Did you see what McDaniels did with that Cassel guy last year. I'd say pat White is more of a McNabb than a Vick or Young...White can throw and had a great combine.
  14. I'm a Broncos fan, and am torn. Cutler is a crybaby...good luck Bears!!! But what is the chance the Broncos will find a QB in the near future like Cutler. I thought for sure they'd make a deal with the Browns and at least get a Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson and a first rounder. I hope the Broncos draft Pat White WV and come through okay.... But I am glad the Bears sucked it up and finally made a move and got a QB... Did anybody else see Urlacher's comments on the deal on ESPN... Talked like the Bears better have gotten all Cutler is hyped to be cause he (Urlacher) was a big Orton fan....

  16. Okay it's too quiet on here and this was something I was wondering the other day. Sorry if it's been brought up in the recent past. But, what attributes, in order of importance, do YOU think make a great wrestler. Speed, Strength, Conditioning/Endurance, Technique, Yrs. Experience, Coaching, Discipline/Dedication, Off Season Workouts/Camps Those are 8 of the major ones I can think of...am I forgetting any other major ones? Anyway...what ranks most to least important In Your Opinions in the attributes required to be the best? My list: 1. D/D 2. Tech 3. Coaching 4. Strength 5. Endurance 6. Yrs. in 7. Speed 8. Off Season (hate to see this at 8th...I put a lot of value on it)
  17. I knew a guy in High School who thought it'd be funny do this in the Senior Class photo...till the photography company noticed and made him pay to have the photos retouched! There is a solution. I am with Salinas on this...people make mistakes...but this was a real lack of class.
  18. Wow! What a match and way to fight of your back. Is it too early to nominate that as the best championship match of the evening! Well deserved State Title!
  19. Jackson (Riley HS feeder) 63 Brown (Clay &Wash HS) 39
  20. Might sound cheesy.... Stein and Weiss are slated for the 7/8 place match... And obviously Stein will not be there. Stein beat Weiss at Regionals... I see a great opportunity for a class act of sportsmanship! (not to take anything away from Weiss) I wish him a quick and full recovery!
  21. How the hell do you overhype a 3 time State Champ?!?!? His accomplishments speak for themselves. Best of luck to Josh Harper at MSU and congrats on an amazing HS career!
  22. Uh oh....be careful talking up that Stein kid! I was so impressed with him at the Al Smith I posted about it and got my head ripped off for it! jk....he is going to be one to watch thoughout the rest of the tournament and over the next two years!

  24. Well if it makes you feel better this weekend some parts of Northern Indiana get to trade snow for FOG!!! So be ready for some potential delays due to the "heat wave" we will get Saturday! Gotta love this Indiana weather! ;D
