Rule #1 at state finals; never underestimate a Mater Dei wrestler (or a Schurg).

Good luck to all the wrestlers tonight.
You have already made your friends, families, and communities proud for advancing this far...
So go out there tonight and tomorrow and leave it all on the mat and walk of the mat with your heads held high regardless of the outcome.

I too would like to wish all the SIAC, PAC & Big 8 wrestlers good luck!
I also want to give a big shoutout to Austin Bethel of Mt Vernon. While I do not know him I became a huge fan after his performance at the Evv SS. Here's to hoping we see a N. Lee/Bethel final for the 3rd weekend in a row.

Dont forget Ellis. He is a greco stud.
Many forget that Nick Lee was the Pan Am champ in freesyle and GRECO. Lee can throw with the best of them.

I would say this bracket Fiasco has effected my son as much as or more than most.
This is the text I sent him this morning.
Today you start to prepare for greatness. You were in the exact same spot last week
and last year. You rose to the occasion and people said Wow! You will do the same
this week. Move forward, never look back and in the end you will have a story to tell.
As fathers we are called to do more than fix or coddle our young men. We teach them
that life does not always go your way. But you always have a choice on how you live it.
What story's will they tell when they are old like us. Hopefully it will be one that they can
be proud of. Not one that always went their way.

Brian Williams was at Merrilville distributing the state pairing formulas. He said he pushed print.

This angers me beyond belief. Yes, knowing the draw before you wrestle most certainly can change the way someone wrestles. In a sport that is based on never quitting, going until you break or you've broken your opponent, fighting for that #1 seed because you've earned the right for that ranking/draw, the fact that anyone was "advertising the draws for coaches to pick up" in the hopes of promoting what I believe to be behavior completely opposed to the whole mentality of wrestling itself, really angers me.
