  1. As long as the kids are not from another high school they should be fine. As I read the rule, a high school kid can work out with a kid from a middle school if he chooses. Just not a kid from a different high school.
  2. And if you were wearing one, they would have a dinosaur in them....... ;D
  3. The only thing I am going to say is directed at both Jason, and Y2. We always hear that one of the reasons that people love this sport is the life lessons that it teaches the kids that stay with it. Now both of you take a deep breath, step back and re-read all of the posts, and ask yourself one question. What lesson are you trying to teach the kids by getting into a spitting contest on the board. Please, there have been some rather harsh statements made from all sides, enough is enough. I vote that this topic be locked if you two cant control yourselves. I know that both of you want what is best for the kids, this type of discussion is not good for anyone, and will leave bad blood for a long time.
  4. Just a question, how does this stick it to the small schools?
  5. From what I understand the rule is that you cannot have contact with any other high school wrestlers outside of your school team mates or another high school coach during the season. Out of season all you want.
  6. I would say the front runner is Danny Williams. That is what I have heard through the grape vine, but nothing is locked down yet. I think Danny would and will make a great choice, and will help re-establish WC as a power in a few years.
  7. I just found out that Cael Sanderson did in fact turn down the offer from WC for the head coaching position. I think they might be bringing in Mena for an interview next.
  8. The last I heard Cael Snderson was going to skip out on PSU and accept the WC job. But then again that might be just some board chatter started by someone with nothing better to do then stir up stuff.
  9. I think you are going to have to wait for a few days to see the placings on the ISWA web site.
  10. Yeah Trackwrestling is horrible as far as Junior state goes. You cant see who is where. I dont know if that is trackwrestling, or ISWA, but it would have been nice to have some info. Depending on what list you look at, you see that at 152, there were 47 kids qualified, and 12 pre-registered. They ended up with 20 kids in that weight. I know at 152 it was 1- Rehinhold (mish.) 7-1 Loss to Smith 2- Barlow ( bloomington) 7-1 Loss to Rehinhold 3- Odom (CIA Indy) 6-2 Loss to Rehinhold, and Barlow other placers were Caleb Smith Patoka, Kirk Johnson PM, Blake Wood PM, and I dont remember the other 2 kids that placed.
  11. Congrats to all the kids that participated in this event today. I was able to see some great matches. So what were the suprises that everyone else saw. 2 stand out to me, Nelsen over Eppert, and Kenny over Brooks. This is not a slam against either kid that won. Both are great wrestlers, and I have enjoyed watching both for a number of years. But those matches did not turn out the way I would have guessed.
  12. Congrats Trent, cant think of anyone better to help expand and support wrestling in the state. Good luck, and let me know if I can do anything to help you out.
  13. With all that young Mr. Tsirtsis is doing on the mat, I wonder if maybe we should stop comparing him to his older brother and maybe compare Alex to Jason. Nice job, and congrats.
  14. Congrats Will, and good luck next year in Boiler country.
  15. I think you guys might need to sit in the time out chair. ;D
  16. www.trackwrestling2.com From there you click on the event name, if you dont see the event name you can search for it by state held in or date and then click on enter tournament and follow the list on the left side of the screen.

I am not sure how Duckworth wrestled in back to back matches, but......
  18. Congrats Cam, it could not have been earned by a nicer, or more respectful kid. K nowing your dad as long as I have known him, you must have got those traits from your mother. ;D Again, congrats, and good luck at Purdue the next 4 years.
  19. Cael would be a great fit for PSU, however for more personal reasons, I would love to see Ken Chertow get the job. That way we would not have to listen to his insesent ramblings on the bigten network wrestling events near as often.
  20. I'm not sure how this would go inviting only certain kids from all across the state, i'm not sure that coaches would want their guys going to an event that was not for all their team. It would be an amazing event though. If Y2 can pull it off, I would be very interested in seeing it.
  21. You said I could ask him anything. I asked if he knew where I lost my keys this weekend, he did not have a clue. I say false advertising on your part..... ;D
  22. It took my a few years to realize the proper way to talk to refs, I would say by the time he was a 2nd year schoolboy I started to figure it out. Good thing you have tough skin there Fabio. What, shouting expletives is not the proper way to talk to refs? I dont remember shouting explitives at them, but I am sure some of them escaped my mouth when i was retelling how bad they were. But things change, and we all learn. The kids learn how to be better wrestlers, the dads learn how to be better spectators and coaches, and it is amazing how much better the refs get after you have been around the sport 8-10 years.

  24. The question is, how many of these jokes are you going to tell on monday morning around the water cooler to your coworkers. If you tell even one, then I say it was time well spent.
