  1. Wc will be fine. If Coach Williams can get 1/10th of the athletes walking around the halls of that school into the room, they will be great. Yes they have some problems with the middle schools, and elementary programs, but that will work itself out in due time. I think that bringing Danny back, Warren has said that being a tough team is no longer going to be enough. If and when Danny starts getting the kids out, this team can, and should be a monster. With the type and sheer number of kids available to the team, it could be the start of something very special on the east side of the city.
  2. There is a difference between hurt and injured. Hurt is just a temporary pain, Injury take time to heal. Hurting someone in a wrestling match is a good thing, injuring them is not. This is all symantics. I dont really think that anyone in here would be advocating injuring someone intentionally. Atleast I hope they dont, and if so, please get out of the sport.
  3. Congrats Troy, just goes to show that class and hard work do have thier own rewards. Not that you needed an award to know how well respected you and your program are around the state. Everytime we would wrestle a kid from your program, we knew it would take our best. Great coach, Great guy.
  4. It would have been better last year, but I have a biased opinion on that. Actually I know Nick woukld have loved to be able to go at it with Brandon every day. He will have Danny Williams to go at it with him, that should help some. That, and his dad is no slouch either....lol Good luck coach. I might be there to watch you guys go at it as long as Trine does nto have a meet that day, and Nick is able to crack the line up there.
  5. Unless they have moved since then, I know he was on the same middle school team as my son way back in the day. So yes he does live in Warren township.
  6. No offense to Warren, but I'm not sure how anyone can make the argument that he is transferring from Cathedral, a top wrestling team, to Warren for athletic reasons. No offence taken, if you read down the list, you will see that I raised the same question before I found out he was in fact going to enroll at WC this year. I would think that the private schools might be having a hard time this year keeping some of thier students. With the economy the way it is, there might be alot of people leaving that would otherwise wish to remain there. I have no idea why Brandon is comming back to WC, I am just glad he is. He will be a welcome addition to the team.
  7. Nice job Sean, that is quite an accoplishment.
  8. Congrats to Trent, he has always acted with class and dignity, and he is well deserving of this award. We in this state are lucky to have people like him throughout the state.
  9. Thanks AJ, however while I have the utmost respect for Marines, I never served in uniform. On a side note, it does seem that the skuttle butt is correct. I have heard from a few sources that Brandon has asked for, and recieved his academic transfer from Cathederal, and will be attending WC next year. This is without question a fantastic addition to WC and the wrestling team. I would venture to guess that Mr Tim Wright will be involved as a coach as well, which will have a very good lasting impact on the school, and will provide Head coach Danny Williams a great coach on the sidelines with him. Welcome home Brandon.
  10. Brandon is a good kid, I dont see him getting kicked out of any school in the state. I will listen to the skuttle butt and as soon as I hear something from someone in a position to know for sure I will let ya know.
  11. Great article, lots of good info, and I loved the discription of Michael Johnson-Jones as a manchild. Very accurate.
  12. Ok, why would Brandon leave Catherderal a team with a legitimate shot at getting to team state, and go to WC, a team that in 3-4 years if Coach Williams gets things going could be a yearly contender, but at the current time is in no where near the position that Cathederal is in? I dont know if he is or he is not, but wiuth this being his senior year, why would he. Also, last year he was rumored to be going to Warren as well, and the year before. Not to mention that his dad is still a coach over at CHS.
  13. Hey Joe, dont sweat being 30, just remember the older you get, the better you were.
  14. Nice work, this site just keeps getting better and better. And Joe, dont worry about the big 30, it is not that big a deal.
  15. Well, not to get off topic, but Danny Williams was named the head wrestling coach at Warren Central today in the Indy Star. It has been known for awhile that he was going to be the choice, but today it was made public through the press. Danny is a great addition to the Warren Wrestling program, and if he is the shot in the arm that the program needs, it will be great for both the school, and Danny himself.
  16. I would expect to see a little of both.
  17. wow coach, thats alot of spots to fill at the last minute, good luck, and good luck down at Disney.
  18. ◦Why do fish live in saltwater? ◦Pepper makes them sneeze.
  19. Wow! You consider losing on Friday night, and losing on Saturday night to be equal? Amazing! It's great to be the champ, attitudes like "if you're not first, you're last" are terrible for wrestling. I have to agree with you on the point about the attitudes in wrestling. There have been many tournaments that I have taken my son to that I knew he was not going to win. The effort was put on wrestling well, and seeing where you stack up against some tough kids. When he 1st got started, going 2-2 at local events was a huge success. As the years went on he and I would have been upset with not being in the last match of the day. It does not diminish thew kids that go 2-2, but is a reflection of where you are. We all need to make sure that we set, and help them set realistic goals. For some that will be winning it all for others it will be making it out of the 1st 2 rounds with a win.
  20. Obviously I am biased, but I have to go with Trine.
  21. Yes, that was him. He wrestled the championship match on Friday night against the Lake Central kid(I think his name was Mora). Interesting fact...I thought championship matches were wrestled on Saturday nights... Thats what happens when you get a returning champ that breaks his ankle in december and ends up just wrestling enough to advance through the tourney. He was 4th cmming out of semi-state and wound up in a draw against a #1 on friday night. It is a bit unfair, but it is the way the system works.
  22. 1- Q nor J appear on the Pediodic table 2- Leave it to Beaver is the 1st show to air part of a toilet, in 1957 they aried the tank portion on a toilet. I think "All in the Family" was the 1st to let us hear a toilet flushing. However what is truely odd is that the 6 Brady kids shared a bathroom, and no toilet was ever seen. As a chemistry teacher I feel obligated to say that J is the only letter not appearing on the periodic table. Q appears in element 114, Uuq which is ununquadium. Dang it, the table I saw only showed the Uu, not the Q
